Surah Ash-Shams سُورَةُ الشَّمۡسِ

وَٱلشَّمۡسِ وَضُحَىٰهَا ﴿١﴾

Eebe wuxuu ku dhaartay Qorraxda iyo Barqinkeeda

By the sun and its brightness

وَٱلۡقَمَرِ إِذَا تَلَىٰهَا ﴿٢﴾

Iyo Dayuxu markuu Qorraxda raaco

And [by] the moon when it follows it

وَٱلنَّهَارِ إِذَا جَلَّىٰهَا ﴿٣﴾

Iyo Maalintu markay ifiso

And [by] the day when it displays it

وَٱلَّیۡلِ إِذَا یَغۡشَىٰهَا ﴿٤﴾

Iyo Habeenku markuu daboolo (madoobaado)

And [by] the night when it covers it

وَٱلسَّمَاۤءِ وَمَا بَنَىٰهَا ﴿٥﴾

Iyo Samada iyo say u dhisantahay

And [by] the sky and He who constructed it

وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَمَا طَحَىٰهَا ﴿٦﴾

Iyo Dhulka iyo suu u fidsanyahay

And [by] the earth and He who spread it

وَنَفۡسࣲ وَمَا سَوَّىٰهَا ﴿٧﴾

Iyo Nafta iyo sida Eebe u ekeeyay

And [by] the soul and He who proportioned it

فَأَلۡهَمَهَا فُجُورَهَا وَتَقۡوَىٰهَا ﴿٨﴾

Una tusiyay Jidka xun iyo ka Eebe kayaabiddaba

And inspired it [with discernment of] its wickedness and its righteousness

قَدۡ أَفۡلَحَ مَن زَكَّىٰهَا ﴿٩﴾

Ee waxaa liibaanay Ruxii Naftiisa Daarhiriya

He has succeeded who purifies it

وَقَدۡ خَابَ مَن دَسَّىٰهَا ﴿١٠﴾

Waxaana khasaaray Ruuxii Naftiisa xumaan dhex galiya

And he has failed who instills it [with corruption]

كَذَّبَتۡ ثَمُودُ بِطَغۡوَىٰهَاۤ ﴿١١﴾

Thamuud waxay beeniyeen (xaqii) kibir dartiis

Thamud denied [their prophet] by reason of their transgression

إِذِ ٱنۢبَعَثَ أَشۡقَىٰهَا ﴿١٢﴾

Marku tagay koodi xumaa (si uu hasha u dilo)

When the most wretched of them was sent forth

فَقَالَ لَهُمۡ رَسُولُ ٱللَّهِ نَاقَةَ ٱللَّهِ وَسُقۡیَـٰهَا ﴿١٣﴾

Oo Rasuulkii Eebana ku yidhi, iska daaya Hasha Eebe iyo Cabbideeda

And the messenger of Allah [Salih] said to them, "[Do not harm] the she-camel of Allah or [prevent her from] her drink

فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَعَقَرُوهَا فَدَمۡدَمَ عَلَیۡهِمۡ رَبُّهُم بِذَنۢبِهِمۡ فَسَوَّىٰهَا ﴿١٤﴾

Wayna beeniyeen Rasuulkii Hashiina way Dileen markaasaa Eebe si daran u caddibay Dambigooda dartiis

But they denied him and hamstrung her. So their Lord brought down upon them destruction for their sin and made it equal [upon all of them]

وَلَا یَخَافُ عُقۡبَـٰهَا ﴿١٥﴾

Isagoon Eebe ka yaabaynin cidhib (iyo wax yeello)

And He does not fear the consequence thereof
