۞ لَاۤ أُقۡسِمُ بِهَـٰذَا ٱلۡبَلَدِ ﴿١﴾
Eebe wuxuu ka dhaaran Magaalada «Makaad ee Sharrifan»
I swear by this city, Makkah
90:1Surah Al-Balad سُورَةُ البَلَدِ
The City · Meccan · 20 verses · Juz 30, page 594
Suuradda Al-Balad · Makki · 20 aayadood
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
وَأَنتَ حِلُّۢ بِهَـٰذَا ٱلۡبَلَدِ ﴿٢﴾
Ood Nabiyow daggantahay dhexdeeda
And you, [O Muhammad], are free of restriction in this city
90:2وَوَالِدࣲ وَمَا وَلَدَ ﴿٣﴾
Iyo Nabi Aadam iyo carruurtiisa «Dadka»
And [by] the father and that which was born [of him]
90:3لَقَدۡ خَلَقۡنَا ٱلۡإِنسَـٰنَ فِی كَبَدٍ ﴿٤﴾
Ee Eebe Dadka wuu Abuuray iyagoo dhib iyo shaqo (Adduunka kala kulmi)
We have certainly created man into hardship
90:4أَیَحۡسَبُ أَن لَّن یَقۡدِرَ عَلَیۡهِ أَحَدࣱ ﴿٥﴾
Ma waxayse u maleeyeen inaan cidna awood ku lahayn (dadku)
Does he think that never will anyone overcome him
90:5یَقُولُ أَهۡلَكۡتُ مَالࣰا لُّبَدًا ﴿٦﴾
Dadka (Gaalada) waxay odhan waxaan bixiyey xoolo badan (si xaqa loo horjoogsado)
He says, "I have spent wealth in abundance
90:6أَیَحۡسَبُ أَن لَّمۡ یَرَهُۥۤ أَحَدٌ ﴿٧﴾
Ma wuxuu u maleeyay (xaq diiduhu) inaan cidna arkaynin
Does he think that no one has seen him
90:7أَلَمۡ نَجۡعَل لَّهُۥ عَیۡنَیۡنِ ﴿٨﴾
Miyaannaan u yeelin Laba indhood
Have We not made for him two eyes
90:8وَلِسَانࣰا وَشَفَتَیۡنِ ﴿٩﴾
Iyo Carrab iyo Laba bishimood
And a tongue and two lips
90:9وَهَدَیۡنَـٰهُ ٱلنَّجۡدَیۡنِ ﴿١٠﴾
Oo miyaannaan u caddaynin Labada Jid (khayrka iyo sharka)
And have shown him the two ways
90:10فَلَا ٱقۡتَحَمَ ٱلۡعَقَبَةَ ﴿١١﴾
Ee Dadku muu jiidho Jiirta
But he has not broken through the difficult pass
90:11وَمَاۤ أَدۡرَىٰكَ مَا ٱلۡعَقَبَةُ ﴿١٢﴾
Ma taqaannaa Jiirta
And what can make you know what is [breaking through] the difficult pass
90:12فَكُّ رَقَبَةٍ ﴿١٣﴾
Waa qoor la xoreeyo
It is the freeing of a slave
90:13أَوۡ إِطۡعَـٰمࣱ فِی یَوۡمࣲ ذِی مَسۡغَبَةࣲ ﴿١٤﴾
Iyo cunno la siiyo maalin gaajo
Or feeding on a day of severe hunger
90:14یَتِیمࣰا ذَا مَقۡرَبَةٍ ﴿١٥﴾
Agoon kuu dhaw
An orphan of near relationship
90:15أَوۡ مِسۡكِینࣰا ذَا مَتۡرَبَةࣲ ﴿١٦﴾
Ama Miskiin Dhulka ku dhagay (dhibaato darteed)
Or a needy person in misery
90:16ثُمَّ كَانَ مِنَ ٱلَّذِینَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَتَوَاصَوۡا۟ بِٱلصَّبۡرِ وَتَوَاصَوۡا۟ بِٱلۡمَرۡحَمَةِ ﴿١٧﴾
Markaas la noqdo kuwa Rumeeyay xaqa, isuna dardaarma Samirka, isuna dardaarma naxariista
And then being among those who believed and advised one another to patience and advised one another to compassion
90:17أُو۟لَـٰۤئِكَ أَصۡحَـٰبُ ٱلۡمَیۡمَنَةِ ﴿١٨﴾
Kuwaasina waa kuwa Midigta mari
Those are the companions of the right
90:18وَٱلَّذِینَ كَفَرُوا۟ بِءَایَـٰتِنَا هُمۡ أَصۡحَـٰبُ ٱلۡمَشۡءَمَةِ ﴿١٩﴾
Kuwaka Gaaloobayse Aayaadkannaga waa kuwa jidka xun mari
But they who disbelieved in Our signs - those are the companions of the left
90:19عَلَیۡهِمۡ نَارࣱ مُّؤۡصَدَةُۢ ﴿٢٠﴾
Waxaana lagu dabooli Naar
Over them will be fire closed in
90:20
