Surah Al-Ghaashiya سُورَةُ الغَاشِيَةِ

هَلۡ أَتَىٰكَ حَدِیثُ ٱلۡغَـٰشِیَةِ ﴿١﴾

Ma ku soo gadhay Qiyaamada warkeedii

Has there reached you the report of the Overwhelming [event]

وُجُوهࣱ یَوۡمَئِذٍ خَـٰشِعَةٌ ﴿٢﴾

Wajiyaal Maalintaas way dullaysnaan

[Some] faces, that Day, will be humbled

عَامِلَةࣱ نَّاصِبَةࣱ ﴿٣﴾

Waxayna qaban Shaqo dhib ah

Working [hard] and exhausted

تَصۡلَىٰ نَارًا حَامِیَةࣰ ﴿٤﴾

Waxayna gali Naar kulul

They will [enter to] burn in an intensely hot Fire

تُسۡقَىٰ مِنۡ عَیۡنٍ ءَانِیَةࣲ ﴿٥﴾

Waxaana laga waraabin il kulayl daran

They will be given drink from a boiling spring

لَّیۡسَ لَهُمۡ طَعَامٌ إِلَّا مِن ضَرِیعࣲ ﴿٦﴾

Wax cunto ahna kama helaan oon ahayn cunno xun (oo wax dhibta)

For them there will be no food except from a poisonous, thorny plant

لَّا یُسۡمِنُ وَلَا یُغۡنِی مِن جُوعࣲ ﴿٧﴾

Taasoon waxna cayilinhaynin Gaajana wax ka taraynin

Which neither nourishes nor avails against hunger

وُجُوهࣱ یَوۡمَئِذࣲ نَّاعِمَةࣱ ﴿٨﴾

Wajiyaalna maalintaas way Nicmaysnaan (Waa mu'miniinta)

[Other] faces, that Day, will show pleasure

لِّسَعۡیِهَا رَاضِیَةࣱ ﴿٩﴾

Waxayna ka raalli noqotay camalkeedii

With their effort [they are] satisfied

فِی جَنَّةٍ عَالِیَةࣲ ﴿١٠﴾

Janno sarana way gali

In an elevated garden

لَّا تَسۡمَعُ فِیهَا لَـٰغِیَةࣰ ﴿١١﴾

Kumana maqasho Jannada hadal macna darro

Wherein they will hear no unsuitable speech

فِیهَا عَیۡنࣱ جَارِیَةࣱ ﴿١٢﴾

Waxaana ah dhexdeed il socota

Within it is a flowing spring

فِیهَا سُرُرࣱ مَّرۡفُوعَةࣱ ﴿١٣﴾

iyo Sariiro la koryeelay

Within it are couches raised high

وَأَكۡوَابࣱ مَّوۡضُوعَةࣱ ﴿١٤﴾

Iyo koobab la hor dhigay (ehlu Jannaha)

And cups put in place

وَنَمَارِقُ مَصۡفُوفَةࣱ ﴿١٥﴾

Iyo Barkimooyin la safay

And cushions lined up

وَزَرَابِیُّ مَبۡثُوثَةٌ ﴿١٦﴾

Iyo gogol la fidiyay

And carpets spread around

أَفَلَا یَنظُرُونَ إِلَى ٱلۡإِبِلِ كَیۡفَ خُلِقَتۡ ﴿١٧﴾

Miyayna fiirinaynin sida Deela loo abuuray

Then do they not look at the camels - how they are created

وَإِلَى ٱلسَّمَاۤءِ كَیۡفَ رُفِعَتۡ ﴿١٨﴾

Iyo sida Samada loo koryeelay

And at the sky - how it is raised

وَإِلَى ٱلۡجِبَالِ كَیۡفَ نُصِبَتۡ ﴿١٩﴾

Iyo sida Ruuraha loo taagay

And at the mountains - how they are erected

وَإِلَى ٱلۡأَرۡضِ كَیۡفَ سُطِحَتۡ ﴿٢٠﴾

Iyo sida dhulka loo fidiyay

And at the earth - how it is spread out

فَذَكِّرۡ إِنَّمَاۤ أَنتَ مُذَكِّرࣱ ﴿٢١﴾

Ee Waani dadka waxaad tahay waaniyee (Nabiyow)

So remind, [O Muhammad]; you are only a reminder

لَّسۡتَ عَلَیۡهِم بِمُصَۣیۡطِرٍ ﴿٢٢﴾

Mana tihid mid xoog ku leh (qasab)

You are not over them a controller

إِلَّا مَن تَوَلَّىٰ وَكَفَرَ ﴿٢٣﴾

Hase yeeshee Ruuxii xaqa ka jeedsada oo Gaalooba (ku soo celi xaqa)

However, he who turns away and disbelieves

فَیُعَذِّبُهُ ٱللَّهُ ٱلۡعَذَابَ ٱلۡأَكۡبَرَ ﴿٢٤﴾

Eebana wuu caddibi Caddibaadda u wayn

Then Allah will punish him with the greatest punishment

إِنَّ إِلَیۡنَاۤ إِیَابَهُمۡ ﴿٢٥﴾

Xagganagayna u soo noqon (khalqigu)

Indeed, to Us is their return

ثُمَّ إِنَّ عَلَیۡنَا حِسَابَهُم ﴿٢٦﴾

Annagaana xisaabin

Then indeed, upon Us is their account
