Surah Abasa سُورَةُ عَبَسَ

۞ عَبَسَ وَتَوَلَّىٰۤ ﴿١﴾

Wajiguu u uruuriyay oo jeedsaday (Nabigu)

The Prophet frowned and turned away

أَن جَاۤءَهُ ٱلۡأَعۡمَىٰ ﴿٢﴾

Inuu u yimid kii Indhaha la'aa

Because there came to him the blind man, [interrupting]

وَمَا یُدۡرِیكَ لَعَلَّهُۥ یَزَّكَّىٰۤ ﴿٣﴾

Miyaad ogtahay inay u dhawdahay inuu hanuuno oo Daahir noqdo

But what would make you perceive, [O Muhammad], that perhaps he might be purified

أَوۡ یَذَّكَّرُ فَتَنفَعَهُ ٱلذِّكۡرَىٰۤ ﴿٤﴾

Ama uu xusuusto oy xusuustu anfacdo

Or be reminded and the remembrance would benefit him

أَمَّا مَنِ ٱسۡتَغۡنَىٰ ﴿٥﴾

Ruuxiise is deeqtoonaysiiya (islana waynaada)

As for he who thinks himself without need

فَأَنتَ لَهُۥ تَصَدَّىٰ ﴿٦﴾

Ma; Adaa u bambixi

To him you give attention

وَمَا عَلَیۡكَ أَلَّا یَزَّكَّىٰ ﴿٧﴾

Maxaa kaa saaran hadduusan hanuunin

And not upon you [is any blame] if he will not be purified

وَأَمَّا مَن جَاۤءَكَ یَسۡعَىٰ ﴿٨﴾

Ruuxiise kuu yimaadda isagoo dagdagi

But as for he who came to you striving [for knowledge]

وَهُوَ یَخۡشَىٰ ﴿٩﴾

Oo Eeba ka yaabi

While he fears [Allah]

فَأَنتَ عَنۡهُ تَلَهَّىٰ ﴿١٠﴾

Miyaad ka shuqloomi

From him you are distracted

كَلَّاۤ إِنَّهَا تَذۡكِرَةࣱ ﴿١١﴾

Saas ma; aha ee Aayadahani waa waano

No! Indeed, these verses are a reminder

فَمَن شَاۤءَ ذَكَرَهُۥ ﴿١٢﴾

Ruuxii doonana wuu ku waana qaadan

So whoever wills may remember it

فِی صُحُفࣲ مُّكَرَّمَةࣲ ﴿١٣﴾

Waxay ku sugantahay (waanadu) Kutub Sharaf leh

[It is recorded] in honored sheets

مَّرۡفُوعَةࣲ مُّطَهَّرَةِۭ ﴿١٤﴾

Oo la kor yeelay lana Daahiriyay

Exalted and purified

بِأَیۡدِی سَفَرَةࣲ ﴿١٥﴾

Oy Gacanta ku hayaan Malaa'ig (wax qorta)

[Carried] by the hands of messenger-angels

كِرَامِۭ بَرَرَةࣲ ﴿١٦﴾

Sharafna leh oo baarri ah

Noble and dutiful

قُتِلَ ٱلۡإِنسَـٰنُ مَاۤ أَكۡفَرَهُۥ ﴿١٧﴾

Gaalo halla lacnado Gaalnima badanaa

Cursed is man; how disbelieving is he

مِنۡ أَیِّ شَیۡءٍ خَلَقَهُۥ ﴿١٨﴾

Muxuu Eebe ka abuuray kuwaas

From what substance did He create him

مِن نُّطۡفَةٍ خَلَقَهُۥ فَقَدَّرَهُۥ ﴿١٩﴾

Dhibicbuu ka abuuray wuuna ekeeyay

From a sperm-drop He created him and destined for him

ثُمَّ ٱلسَّبِیلَ یَسَّرَهُۥ ﴿٢٠﴾

Jidkana wuu u fudaydiyay

Then He eased the way for him

ثُمَّ أَمَاتَهُۥ فَأَقۡبَرَهُۥ ﴿٢١﴾

Markaasuu dilaa Qabrina ku Asturaa

Then He causes his death and provides a grave for him

ثُمَّ إِذَا شَاۤءَ أَنشَرَهُۥ ﴿٢٢﴾

Markuu doonana wuu soo bixin

Then when He wills, He will resurrect him

كَلَّا لَمَّا یَقۡضِ مَاۤ أَمَرَهُۥ ﴿٢٣﴾

Saas ma; aha (ee Dadku) wixii la faray ma yeelin

No! Man has not yet accomplished what He commanded him

فَلۡیَنظُرِ ٱلۡإِنسَـٰنُ إِلَىٰ طَعَامِهِۦۤ ﴿٢٤﴾

Dadku ha fiiriyo Cuntadiisa

Then let mankind look at his food

أَنَّا صَبَبۡنَا ٱلۡمَاۤءَ صَبࣰّا ﴿٢٥﴾

Inaan Roob ku soo shubno

How We poured down water in torrents

ثُمَّ شَقَقۡنَا ٱلۡأَرۡضَ شَقࣰّا ﴿٢٦﴾

Dhulkana markaas aan jeexno

Then We broke open the earth, splitting [it with sprouts]

فَأَنۢبَتۡنَا فِیهَا حَبࣰّا ﴿٢٧﴾

Kana soo bixinno Midho

And caused to grow within it grain

وَعِنَبࣰا وَقَضۡبࣰا ﴿٢٨﴾

Iyo cinab iyo Daaqa (Xoolaha)

And grapes and herbage

وَزَیۡتُونࣰا وَنَخۡلࣰا ﴿٢٩﴾

Iyo Zeytuun iyo Timir

And olive and palm trees

وَحَدَاۤئِقَ غُلۡبࣰا ﴿٣٠﴾

Iyo Beerow waawayn

And gardens of dense shrubbery

وَفَـٰكِهَةࣰ وَأَبࣰّا ﴿٣١﴾

Iyo Faakiho (khudaar) iyo Daaq

And fruit and grass

مَّتَـٰعࣰا لَّكُمۡ وَلِأَنۡعَـٰمِكُمۡ ﴿٣٢﴾

Si aad ugu intifaacdaan idinka iyo xoolihiinnu

[As] enjoyment for you and your grazing livestock

فَإِذَا جَاۤءَتِ ٱلصَّاۤخَّةُ ﴿٣٣﴾

Markay Qayladii darrayd timaaddo (Suurka)

But when there comes the Deafening Blast

یَوۡمَ یَفِرُّ ٱلۡمَرۡءُ مِنۡ أَخِیهِ ﴿٣٤﴾

Waa maalinta Ruuxu ka carari Walaalkiis

On the Day a man will flee from his brother

وَأُمِّهِۦ وَأَبِیهِ ﴿٣٥﴾

Iyo Hooyadiis Iyo Aabihiis

And his mother and his father

وَصَـٰحِبَتِهِۦ وَبَنِیهِ ﴿٣٦﴾

Iyo Haweeneydiisii iyo Carruurtiisii

And his wife and his children

لِكُلِّ ٱمۡرِئࣲ مِّنۡهُمۡ یَوۡمَئِذࣲ شَأۡنࣱ یُغۡنِیهِ ﴿٣٧﴾

Ruux walbana Maalintaas waxaa shuqlin xaalkiisa

For every man, that Day, will be a matter adequate for him

وُجُوهࣱ یَوۡمَئِذࣲ مُّسۡفِرَةࣱ ﴿٣٨﴾

Wajiyaal Maalintaas way Nuuri (Farxi)

[Some] faces, that Day, will be bright

ضَاحِكَةࣱ مُّسۡتَبۡشِرَةࣱ ﴿٣٩﴾

Wayna Qosli oy bishaaraysan

Laughing, rejoicing at good news

وَوُجُوهࣱ یَوۡمَئِذٍ عَلَیۡهَا غَبَرَةࣱ ﴿٤٠﴾

Wajiyaalna Maalintaas waxaa ka muuqan Dulli

And [other] faces, that Day, will have upon them dust

تَرۡهَقُهَا قَتَرَةٌ ﴿٤١﴾

Waxaana dabooli Madow (iyo naxdin)

Blackness will cover them

أُو۟لَـٰۤئِكَ هُمُ ٱلۡكَفَرَةُ ٱلۡفَجَرَةُ ﴿٤٢﴾

Kuwaasina waa Gaalada Faasiqiinta ah (aadna u xun)

Those are the disbelievers, the wicked ones
