Surah Al-Muddaththir سُورَةُ المُدَّثِّرِ

یَـٰۤأَیُّهَا ٱلۡمُدَّثِّرُ ﴿١﴾

(Nabiga) Isadadayow

O you who covers himself [with a garment]

قُمۡ فَأَنذِرۡ ﴿٢﴾

Istaag oo dig

Arise and warn

وَرَبَّكَ فَكَبِّرۡ ﴿٣﴾

Eebahaana waynee

And your Lord glorify

وَثِیَابَكَ فَطَهِّرۡ ﴿٤﴾

Dharkaagana daahiri

And your clothing purify

وَٱلرُّجۡزَ فَٱهۡجُرۡ ﴿٥﴾

Xumuuntana ka hijroo (iyo Sanamyada)

And uncleanliness avoid

وَلَا تَمۡنُن تَسۡتَكۡثِرُ ﴿٦﴾

Hana ku mannaysan Adoo Badsan (waxaad Bixisay)

And do not confer favor to acquire more

وَلِرَبِّكَ فَٱصۡبِرۡ ﴿٧﴾

Eebahaa Dartiisna u Samir

But for your Lord be patient

فَإِذَا نُقِرَ فِی ٱلنَّاقُورِ ﴿٨﴾

Marka Suurka (yiaame) la Afuufo

And when the trumpet is blown

فَذَ ٰلِكَ یَوۡمَئِذࣲ یَوۡمٌ عَسِیرٌ ﴿٩﴾

Maalintaasu waa maalin ku Daran

That Day will be a difficult day

عَلَى ٱلۡكَـٰفِرِینَ غَیۡرُ یَسِیرࣲ ﴿١٠﴾

Gaalada oon u Fududayn

For the disbelievers - not easy

ذَرۡنِی وَمَنۡ خَلَقۡتُ وَحِیدࣰا ﴿١١﴾

Isukaanna daa Aniga iyo kaan Abuuray isaga oo kaligiisa

Leave Me with the one I created alone

وَجَعَلۡتُ لَهُۥ مَالࣰا مَّمۡدُودࣰا ﴿١٢﴾

Una yeelay Xoolo Badan

And to whom I granted extensive wealth

وَبَنِینَ شُهُودࣰا ﴿١٣﴾

Iyo Wilaal Jooga oo «Darban»

And children present [with him]

وَمَهَّدتُّ لَهُۥ تَمۡهِیدࣰا ﴿١٤﴾

Aan una waasiciyay Risqiga

And spread [everything] before him, easing [his life]

ثُمَّ یَطۡمَعُ أَنۡ أَزِیدَ ﴿١٥﴾

Oo haddana sii damci inaan u Badiyo

Then he desires that I should add more

كَلَّاۤۖ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ لِءَایَـٰتِنَا عَنِیدࣰا ﴿١٦﴾

Saas ma aha, ee kaas wuxuu diiday Aayaadkannaga

No! Indeed, he has been toward Our verses obstinate

سَأُرۡهِقُهُۥ صَعُودًا ﴿١٧﴾

Waxaana ku kalligi (Ku Dhibi) Cadaab daran

I will cover him with arduous torment

إِنَّهُۥ فَكَّرَ وَقَدَّرَ ﴿١٨﴾

Gaalkaasu wuu Fikiray waxbuuna Goostay

Indeed, he thought and deliberated

فَقُتِلَ كَیۡفَ قَدَّرَ ﴿١٩﴾

Waxaana loo Lacnaday Siduu wax u goostay

So may he be destroyed [for] how he deliberated

ثُمَّ قُتِلَ كَیۡفَ قَدَّرَ ﴿٢٠﴾

Haddana waxaa loo Lacnaday siduu wax u goostay

Then may he be destroyed [for] how he deliberated

ثُمَّ نَظَرَ ﴿٢١﴾

Kadib wuxuu eebay (si uu Quraanka u wax yeeleeyo)

Then he considered [again]

ثُمَّ عَبَسَ وَبَسَرَ ﴿٢٢﴾

Wuuna Waji Macbuusay oo Uruuriyay

Then he frowned and scowled

ثُمَّ أَدۡبَرَ وَٱسۡتَكۡبَرَ ﴿٢٣﴾

Markaasuu jeedsaday oo is Kibriyay

Then he turned back and was arrogant

فَقَالَ إِنۡ هَـٰذَاۤ إِلَّا سِحۡرࣱ یُؤۡثَرُ ﴿٢٤﴾

Isagoo Dhihi quraankani ma aha waxaan sixir la soo Guuriyay ahayn

And said, "This is not but magic imitated [from others]

إِنۡ هَـٰذَاۤ إِلَّا قَوۡلُ ٱلۡبَشَرِ ﴿٢٥﴾

quraankani ma aha waxaan hadal Bashar ahayn

This is not but the word of a human being

سَأُصۡلِیهِ سَقَرَ ﴿٢٦﴾

waxaannu galin kaas (Naarta) saqara

I will drive him into Saqar

وَمَاۤ أَدۡرَىٰكَ مَا سَقَرُ ﴿٢٧﴾

Ma taqaannaa Naarta Saqara

And what can make you know what is Saqar

لَا تُبۡقِی وَلَا تَذَرُ ﴿٢٨﴾

Hilib iyo laf midna ma Reebto

It lets nothing remain and leaves nothing [unburned]

لَوَّاحَةࣱ لِّلۡبَشَرِ ﴿٢٩﴾

waxayna Doorisaa jidhka (oy Gubtaa)

Blackening the skins

عَلَیۡهَا تِسۡعَةَ عَشَرَ ﴿٣٠﴾

waxaana kor jooga (ka shaqeeya) sagaal iyo toban malag (ama saf)

Over it are nineteen [angels]

وَمَا جَعَلۡنَاۤ أَصۡحَـٰبَ ٱلنَّارِ إِلَّا مَلَـٰۤئِكَةࣰۖ وَمَا جَعَلۡنَا عِدَّتَهُمۡ إِلَّا فِتۡنَةࣰ لِّلَّذِینَ كَفَرُوا۟ لِیَسۡتَیۡقِنَ ٱلَّذِینَ أُوتُوا۟ ٱلۡكِتَـٰبَ وَیَزۡدَادَ ٱلَّذِینَ ءَامَنُوۤا۟ إِیمَـٰنࣰا وَلَا یَرۡتَابَ ٱلَّذِینَ أُوتُوا۟ ٱلۡكِتَـٰبَ وَٱلۡمُؤۡمِنُونَ وَلِیَقُولَ ٱلَّذِینَ فِی قُلُوبِهِم مَّرَضࣱ وَٱلۡكَـٰفِرُونَ مَاذَاۤ أَرَادَ ٱللَّهُ بِهَـٰذَا مَثَلࣰاۚ كَذَ ٰلِكَ یُضِلُّ ٱللَّهُ مَن یَشَاۤءُ وَیَهۡدِی مَن یَشَاۤءُۚ وَمَا یَعۡلَمُ جُنُودَ رَبِّكَ إِلَّا هُوَۚ وَمَا هِیَ إِلَّا ذِكۡرَىٰ لِلۡبَشَرِ ﴿٣١﴾

Ugama Aannaan yeelin naarta kuwa ka shaqeeya malaa'ig, tirana uma aannaan yeelin inay Gaaladu ku fidnoobaan Mooyeen, iyo inay yaqiin sadaan kuwa Kitaabka la siiyay, iyo inay kordhistaan kuwii xaqa Rumeeyay Iimaan, ayna shakiyiinna kuwii Kitaab- ka la siiyay iyo Mu'miniintu, iyo inay Dhahaan kuwa Qalbiga ka buka iyo Gaaladu Eebe muxuu uga Jeedaa Tusaalahan, saasaa Eebe u dhumiyaa Ruuxuu Doono, una Hanuuniyaa Ruuxuu Doono, wax og junuuda Eebe oon isaga Ahaynna ma jiro, waxaan la soo Sheegayna ma aha waano Dadka Mooyee

And We have not made the keepers of the Fire except angels. And We have not made their number except as a trial for those who disbelieve - that those who were given the Scripture will be convinced and those who have believed will increase in faith and those who were given the Scripture and the believers will not doubt and that those in whose hearts is hypocrisy and the disbelievers will say, "What does Allah intend by this as an example?" Thus does Allah leave astray whom He wills and guides whom He wills. And none knows the soldiers of your Lord except Him. And mention of the Fire is not but a reminder to humanity

كَلَّا وَٱلۡقَمَرِ ﴿٣٢﴾

Waxaa sugan dayaxa ku Dhaartaye

No! By the moon

وَٱلَّیۡلِ إِذۡ أَدۡبَرَ ﴿٣٣﴾

Iyo Habeenku Markuu Jeedsado

And [by] the night when it departs

وَٱلصُّبۡحِ إِذَاۤ أَسۡفَرَ ﴿٣٤﴾

Iyo Subaxu markuu iftiimo

And [by] the morning when it brightens

إِنَّهَا لَإِحۡدَى ٱلۡكُبَرِ ﴿٣٥﴾

Ee Naarta Saqara waa waxyaalaha waawayn Midkood (Balaayooyinka)

Indeed, the Fire is of the greatest [afflictions]

نَذِیرࣰا لِّلۡبَشَرِ ﴿٣٦﴾

Waana Digniinta Dadka

As a warning to humanity

لِمَن شَاۤءَ مِنكُمۡ أَن یَتَقَدَّمَ أَوۡ یَتَأَخَّرَ ﴿٣٧﴾

Ruuxii Doona inuu Hormaro, iyo Ruuxii Doona inuu dib dhaco, (waa Loodigay)

To whoever wills among you to proceed or stay behind

كُلُّ نَفۡسِۭ بِمَا كَسَبَتۡ رَهِینَةٌ ﴿٣٨﴾

Naf walba waxay u xidhantahay waxay Camal fashay

Every soul, for what it has earned, will be retained

إِلَّاۤ أَصۡحَـٰبَ ٱلۡیَمِینِ ﴿٣٩﴾

Hase yeeshee kuwa Midigta mari (Ehlu khayrka)

Except the companions of the right

فِی جَنَّـٰتࣲ یَتَسَاۤءَلُونَ ﴿٤٠﴾

Waxay gali Jannooyin, waxayna iswaydiin

[Who will be] in gardens, questioning each other

عَنِ ٱلۡمُجۡرِمِینَ ﴿٤١﴾

Dambiilayaasha

About the criminals

مَا سَلَكَكُمۡ فِی سَقَرَ ﴿٤٢﴾

Iyagoo ku dhihi Maxaa idin Galiyay Naarta saqara

[And asking them], "What put you into Saqar

قَالُوا۟ لَمۡ نَكُ مِنَ ٱلۡمُصَلِّینَ ﴿٤٣﴾

Waxayna ugu Jawabi ka mid ma'aannaan ahayn kuwa Tukada

They will say, "We were not of those who prayed

وَلَمۡ نَكُ نُطۡعِمُ ٱلۡمِسۡكِینَ ﴿٤٤﴾

Mana aannaan ahayn kuwa Quudiya Miskiinka

Nor did we used to feed the poor

وَكُنَّا نَخُوضُ مَعَ ٱلۡخَاۤئِضِینَ ﴿٤٥﴾

Waxaana ahayn kuwa la dhumbada kuwa xumaanta Dumban

And we used to enter into vain discourse with those who engaged [in it]

وَكُنَّا نُكَذِّبُ بِیَوۡمِ ٱلدِّینِ ﴿٤٦﴾

Waxaana ahayn kuwa beeniya Maalinta Abaalmarinta (Qiyaamada)

And we used to deny the Day of Recompense

حَتَّىٰۤ أَتَىٰنَا ٱلۡیَقِینُ ﴿٤٧﴾

Ilaa ay Dhabtu Nooga Timaado (Geeridu)

Until there came to us the certainty

فَمَا تَنفَعُهُمۡ شَفَـٰعَةُ ٱلشَّـٰفِعِینَ ﴿٤٨﴾

Ma anfacayso kuwaas Shafeecada kuwa Shafeeca

So there will not benefit them the intercession of [any] intercessors

فَمَا لَهُمۡ عَنِ ٱلتَّذۡكِرَةِ مُعۡرِضِینَ ﴿٤٩﴾

Maxaase u sugnaaday iy waanada uga Jeedsadaan

Then what is [the matter] with them that they are, from the reminder, turning away

كَأَنَّهُمۡ حُمُرࣱ مُّسۡتَنفِرَةࣱ ﴿٥٠﴾

ood u moodaa Dameero Diday

As if they were alarmed donkeys

فَرَّتۡ مِن قَسۡوَرَةِۭ ﴿٥١﴾

oo ka Cararay libaax

Fleeing from a lion

بَلۡ یُرِیدُ كُلُّ ٱمۡرِئࣲ مِّنۡهُمۡ أَن یُؤۡتَىٰ صُحُفࣰا مُّنَشَّرَةࣰ ﴿٥٢﴾

Haddana wuxuu dooni midkasta oo ka mida warqado Qoran (kitaab)

Rather, every person among them desires that he would be given scriptures spread about

كَلَّاۖ بَل لَّا یَخَافُونَ ٱلۡءَاخِرَةَ ﴿٥٣﴾

Saas ma aha Ee kama yaabayaan Aakhiro

No! But they do not fear the Hereafter

كَلَّاۤ إِنَّهُۥ تَذۡكِرَةࣱ ﴿٥٤﴾

Waxaa sugan in Quraanku waana yahay

No! Indeed, the Qur'an is a reminder

فَمَن شَاۤءَ ذَكَرَهُۥ ﴿٥٥﴾

Ruuxii Doona yaana waantoobi

Then whoever wills will remember it

وَمَا یَذۡكُرُونَ إِلَّاۤ أَن یَشَاۤءَ ٱللَّهُۚ هُوَ أَهۡلُ ٱلتَّقۡوَىٰ وَأَهۡلُ ٱلۡمَغۡفِرَةِ ﴿٥٦﴾

Mana Waantoobayaan in Eebe Doona Mooyee, Eebana wuxuu mutaa in laga Dhawrsado, wuxuuna Ehel u yahay inii Dambi Dhaafo

And they will not remember except that Allah wills. He is worthy of fear and adequate for [granting] forgiveness
