Surah Al-Qamar سُورَةُ القَمَرِ

ٱقۡتَرَبَتِ ٱلسَّاعَةُ وَٱنشَقَّ ٱلۡقَمَرُ ﴿١﴾

Waxaa dhawaatay Saacaddii (Qiyaame), dayixiina wuu dillaacay

The Hour has come near, and the moon has split [in two]

وَإِن یَرَوۡا۟ ءَایَةࣰ یُعۡرِضُوا۟ وَیَقُولُوا۟ سِحۡرࣱ مُّسۡتَمِرࣱّ ﴿٢﴾

Hadday Gaaladu arkaan Aayad way ka jeedsadaan waxayna dhahaan waa Sixir daran

And if they see a miracle, they turn away and say, "Passing magic

وَكَذَّبُوا۟ وَٱتَّبَعُوۤا۟ أَهۡوَاۤءَهُمۡۚ وَكُلُّ أَمۡرࣲ مُّسۡتَقِرࣱّ ﴿٣﴾

Way beeniyeen (Nabiga iyo xaqa) waxayna raaceen Hawadooda, amar kastana wuxuu leeyahay meel uu ku sugnaado

And they denied and followed their inclinations. But for every matter is a [time of] settlement

وَلَقَدۡ جَاۤءَهُم مِّنَ ٱلۡأَنۢبَاۤءِ مَا فِیهِ مُزۡدَجَرٌ ﴿٤﴾

Waxaana ugu yimid dhab ahaan warar ku dheehan waano

And there has already come to them of information that in which there is deterrence

حِكۡمَةُۢ بَـٰلِغَةࣱۖ فَمَا تُغۡنِ ٱلنُّذُرُ ﴿٥﴾

Waana Xigmad xeel dheer, maxaysa tari udigidi

Extensive wisdom - but warning does not avail [them]

فَتَوَلَّ عَنۡهُمۡۘ یَوۡمَ یَدۡعُ ٱلدَّاعِ إِلَىٰ شَیۡءࣲ نُّكُرٍ ﴿٦﴾

Ee iskaga jeedso (sugna) Maalinta mid dhawaaqaa uu ugu yeedhi wax daran

So leave them, [O Muhammad]. The Day the Caller calls to something forbidding

خُشَّعًا أَبۡصَـٰرُهُمۡ یَخۡرُجُونَ مِنَ ٱلۡأَجۡدَاثِ كَأَنَّهُمۡ جَرَادࣱ مُّنتَشِرࣱ ﴿٧﴾

Aragooduna wuu dullaysnaan waxayna ka soo bixi Qubuurahooda iyagood moodid Ayax faafay

Their eyes humbled, they will emerge from the graves as if they were locusts spreading

مُّهۡطِعِینَ إِلَى ٱلدَّاعِۖ یَقُولُ ٱلۡكَـٰفِرُونَ هَـٰذَا یَوۡمٌ عَسِرࣱ ﴿٨﴾

Iyagoo u dagdagi dhawaaqaha xaggiisa, waxayna dhihi Gaaladu kani waa Maalin daran

Racing ahead toward the Caller. The disbelievers will say, "This is a difficult Day

۞ كَذَّبَتۡ قَبۡلَهُمۡ قَوۡمُ نُوحࣲ فَكَذَّبُوا۟ عَبۡدَنَا وَقَالُوا۟ مَجۡنُونࣱ وَٱزۡدُجِرَ ﴿٩﴾

Waxaa beeniyay (xaqa) iyaga hortood (Nabi) Nuux Qoomkiisii, waxay beeniyeen Addonkanagii, waxayna dheheen wuu waalanyahay, waana la guulguulay, «oo la canaantay»

The people of Noah denied before them, and they denied Our servant and said, "A madman," and he was repelled

فَدَعَا رَبَّهُۥۤ أَنِّی مَغۡلُوبࣱ فَٱنتَصِرۡ ﴿١٠﴾

Eebuuna tuugay inuu tabaryaryahay oo u gargaaro

So he invoked his Lord, "Indeed, I am overpowered, so help

فَفَتَحۡنَاۤ أَبۡوَ ٰبَ ٱلسَّمَاۤءِ بِمَاۤءࣲ مُّنۡهَمِرࣲ ﴿١١﴾

Markaasaan ku furay Albaabbada Samada (Cirka) Biyo badanna ka keenay

Then We opened the gates of the heaven with rain pouring down

وَفَجَّرۡنَا ٱلۡأَرۡضَ عُیُونࣰا فَٱلۡتَقَى ٱلۡمَاۤءُ عَلَىٰۤ أَمۡرࣲ قَدۡ قُدِرَ ﴿١٢﴾

Dhulkana Eebaa ka dillaaciyay ilo, wayna kulmeen biyihii amar la qadaray dartiis

And caused the earth to burst with springs, and the waters met for a matter already predestined

وَحَمَلۡنَـٰهُ عَلَىٰ ذَاتِ أَلۡوَ ٰحࣲ وَدُسُرࣲ ﴿١٣﴾

Waxaanna ku xambaaray Nabi Nuux (Doon) Looxyo iyo Musbaarro leh

And We carried him on a [construction of] planks and nails

تَجۡرِی بِأَعۡیُنِنَا جَزَاۤءࣰ لِّمَن كَانَ كُفِرَ ﴿١٤﴾

Kuna socota illalintanada si loo abaalmariyo cidda Gaalowday

Sailing under Our observation as reward for he who had been denied

وَلَقَد تَّرَكۡنَـٰهَاۤ ءَایَةࣰ فَهَلۡ مِن مُّدَّكِرࣲ ﴿١٥﴾

Waxaan uga tagnay (yuu Eebe yidhi) Calaamad (lagu wantoobo) ee ma jirtaa cid wacdoomi (oo wax xusuusan)

And We left it as a sign, so is there any who will remember

فَكَیۡفَ كَانَ عَذَابِی وَنُذُرِ ﴿١٦﴾

Seese yahay Caddib Eebe iyo digiddiisu

And how [severe] were My punishment and warning

وَلَقَدۡ یَسَّرۡنَا ٱلۡقُرۡءَانَ لِلذِّكۡرِ فَهَلۡ مِن مُّدَّكِرࣲ ﴿١٧﴾

Waan fududaynnay Quraanka xusuus darteed ee ma jirtaa cid wacdoomi

And We have certainly made the Qur'an easy for remembrance, so is there any who will remember

كَذَّبَتۡ عَادࣱ فَكَیۡفَ كَانَ عَذَابِی وَنُذُرِ ﴿١٨﴾

Caadna way beenisay (xaqii), seese noqotay caddibaaddii Eebe iyo u digitiisii

Aad denied; and how [severe] were My punishment and warning

إِنَّاۤ أَرۡسَلۡنَا عَلَیۡهِمۡ رِیحࣰا صَرۡصَرࣰا فِی یَوۡمِ نَحۡسࣲ مُّسۡتَمِرࣲّ ﴿١٩﴾

Waxaan ku dirray korkooda dabayl qabaw daran Maalin baasaysan dhexdeed oo Joogta ah

Indeed, We sent upon them a screaming wind on a day of continuous misfortune

تَنزِعُ ٱلنَّاسَ كَأَنَّهُمۡ أَعۡجَازُ نَخۡلࣲ مُّنقَعِرࣲ ﴿٢٠﴾

Oo dadka siibaysa sida Timir gunteedii la rujiyay

Extracting the people as if they were trunks of palm trees uprooted

فَكَیۡفَ كَانَ عَذَابِی وَنُذُرِ ﴿٢١﴾

Seese ahaa caddibaaddii Eebe iyo u digiddiisii

And how [severe] were My punishment and warning

وَلَقَدۡ یَسَّرۡنَا ٱلۡقُرۡءَانَ لِلذِّكۡرِ فَهَلۡ مِن مُّدَّكِرࣲ ﴿٢٢﴾

Waxaan ufududaynay Quraanka xusuus darteed ee ma jirtaa cid ku wacdoomi

And We have certainly made the Qur'an easy for remembrance, so is there any who will remember

كَذَّبَتۡ ثَمُودُ بِٱلنُّذُرِ ﴿٢٣﴾

Waxaa beenisay (xaqii) loogu digay Thamuud

Thamud denied the warning

فَقَالُوۤا۟ أَبَشَرࣰا مِّنَّا وَ ٰحِدࣰا نَّتَّبِعُهُۥۤ إِنَّاۤ إِذࣰا لَّفِی ضَلَـٰلࣲ وَسُعُرٍ ﴿٢٤﴾

Waxayna dheheen ma Ruux dad ah oo naga mid ah yaan raacaynaa, markaas waxaan ku sugannahay baadi iyo dhibaato

And said, "Is it one human being among us that we should follow? Indeed, we would then be in error and madness

أَءُلۡقِیَ ٱلذِّكۡرُ عَلَیۡهِ مِنۢ بَیۡنِنَا بَلۡ هُوَ كَذَّابٌ أَشِرࣱ ﴿٢٥﴾

Ma isagoo na dhexjoogaa waxyi lagu soo dajiyay, saas ma aha ee waa beenbadane kibirlow ah

Has the message been sent down upon him from among us? Rather, he is an insolent liar

سَیَعۡلَمُونَ غَدࣰا مَّنِ ٱلۡكَذَّابُ ٱلۡأَشِرُ ﴿٢٦﴾

Way ogaan doonaan barri cidda beenbadane kibirlow ah

They will know tomorrow who is the insolent liar

إِنَّا مُرۡسِلُوا۟ ٱلنَّاقَةِ فِتۡنَةࣰ لَّهُمۡ فَٱرۡتَقِبۡهُمۡ وَٱصۡطَبِرۡ ﴿٢٧﴾

Hashii Annagaa soo bixinnay Jirrabkooda dartiis, Ee sug kuna samir

Indeed, We are sending the she-camel as trial for them, so watch them and be patient

وَنَبِّئۡهُمۡ أَنَّ ٱلۡمَاۤءَ قِسۡمَةُۢ بَیۡنَهُمۡۖ كُلُّ شِرۡبࣲ مُّحۡتَضَرࣱ ﴿٢٨﴾

Una warran in biyuhu yihiin qayb (iyaga iyo Hasha), cidbana maalin gaara leedahay

And inform them that the water is shared between them, each [day of] drink attended [by turn]

فَنَادَوۡا۟ صَاحِبَهُمۡ فَتَعَاطَىٰ فَعَقَرَ ﴿٢٩﴾

Waxay u dhawaaqeen saaxiibkood hashiina wuu dilay

But they called their companion, and he dared and hamstrung [her]

فَكَیۡفَ كَانَ عَذَابِی وَنُذُرِ ﴿٣٠﴾

Seese ahaa caddibaaddii Eebe iyo u digiddiisii

And how [severe] were My punishment and warning

إِنَّاۤ أَرۡسَلۡنَا عَلَیۡهِمۡ صَیۡحَةࣰ وَ ٰحِدَةࣰ فَكَانُوا۟ كَهَشِیمِ ٱلۡمُحۡتَظِرِ ﴿٣١﴾

Dhawaaq kaliyaan ku siidaynay, waxayna la mid noqdeen jabad burburay

Indeed, We sent upon them one blast from the sky, and they became like the dry twig fragments of an [animal] pen

وَلَقَدۡ یَسَّرۡنَا ٱلۡقُرۡءَانَ لِلذِّكۡرِ فَهَلۡ مِن مُّدَّكِرࣲ ﴿٣٢﴾

Quraankana waan u fududaynay xusuus darteed ee ma jirtaa cid ku wacdoomi

And We have certainly made the Qur'an easy for remembrance, so is there any who will remember

كَذَّبَتۡ قَوۡمُ لُوطِۭ بِٱلنُّذُرِ ﴿٣٣﴾

Way beeniyeen Qoomkii (NabiLuudh) u digiddii

The people of Lot denied the warning

إِنَّاۤ أَرۡسَلۡنَا عَلَیۡهِمۡ حَاصِبًا إِلَّاۤ ءَالَ لُوطࣲۖ نَّجَّیۡنَـٰهُم بِسَحَرࣲ ﴿٣٤﴾

Waxaana ku dirray korkooda Dabayl Dhagaxyo wadaa, waxaanse ka nabadgalinnay (Luudh) ehelkiisii (rumeeyay) goor Aroor ah

Indeed, We sent upon them a storm of stones, except the family of Lot - We saved them before dawn

نِّعۡمَةࣰ مِّنۡ عِندِنَاۚ كَذَ ٰلِكَ نَجۡزِی مَن شَكَرَ ﴿٣٥﴾

Nicmad xaggannaga ka timid darteed saasaana u abaalmarinnaa ciddii mahadisa (Eebe)

As favor from us. Thus do We reward he who is grateful

وَلَقَدۡ أَنذَرَهُم بَطۡشَتَنَا فَتَمَارَوۡا۟ بِٱلنُّذُرِ ﴿٣٦﴾

Nabi-Luudh wuxuu uga digay qoomkiisii qabashadannada (daran), wayse shakiyeen digiddaas

And he had already warned them of Our assault, but they disputed the warning

وَلَقَدۡ رَ ٰوَدُوهُ عَن ضَیۡفِهِۦ فَطَمَسۡنَاۤ أَعۡیُنَهُمۡ فَذُوقُوا۟ عَذَابِی وَنُذُرِ ﴿٣٧﴾

Waxayna dooneen martidiisii (inay xumeeyaan) markaasaan indhaha tirray, waxaana lagu yidhi dhadhamiya caddibaadda Eebe iyo digiddiisa

And they had demanded from him his guests, but We obliterated their eyes, [saying], "Taste My punishment and warning

وَلَقَدۡ صَبَّحَهُم بُكۡرَةً عَذَابࣱ مُّسۡتَقِرࣱّ ﴿٣٨﴾

Waxaa ku waabariistay caddibaad sugan

And there came upon them by morning an abiding punishment

فَذُوقُوا۟ عَذَابِی وَنُذُرِ ﴿٣٩﴾

Waxaana lagu yidhi dhadhamiya caddibaadda Eebe iyo digiddiisa

So taste My punishment and warning

وَلَقَدۡ یَسَّرۡنَا ٱلۡقُرۡءَانَ لِلذِّكۡرِ فَهَلۡ مِن مُّدَّكِرࣲ ﴿٤٠﴾

Waan fududaynay Quraanka xusuus darteed ee ma jirtaa cid wacdoomi

And We have certainly made the Qur'an easy for remembrance, so is there any who will remember

وَلَقَدۡ جَاۤءَ ءَالَ فِرۡعَوۡنَ ٱلنُّذُرُ ﴿٤١﴾

Fircoon iyo ehelkiisii waxaa uyimid digid

And there certainly came to the people of Pharaoh warning

كَذَّبُوا۟ بِءَایَـٰتِنَا كُلِّهَا فَأَخَذۡنَـٰهُمۡ أَخۡذَ عَزِیزࣲ مُّقۡتَدِرٍ ﴿٤٢﴾

Wayna beeniyeen Aayaadkannagii dhammaanteed, markaasaan u qabannay si xoog iyo awood leh

They denied Our signs, all of them, so We seized them with a seizure of one Exalted in Might and Perfect in Ability

أَكُفَّارُكُمۡ خَیۡرࣱ مِّنۡ أُو۟لَـٰۤئِكُمۡ أَمۡ لَكُم بَرَاۤءَةࣱ فِی ٱلزُّبُرِ ﴿٤٣﴾

Ma Gaaladinnan baa ka khayr badan kuwaas mase dambi la'aanbaa idiin ku sugan Kutubta

Are your disbelievers better than those [former ones], or have you immunity in the scripture

أَمۡ یَقُولُونَ نَحۡنُ جَمِیعࣱ مُّنتَصِرࣱ ﴿٤٤﴾

Mase waxay dhihi koox guulaysan yaanahay

Or do they say, "We are an assembly supporting [each other]

سَیُهۡزَمُ ٱلۡجَمۡعُ وَیُوَلُّونَ ٱلدُّبُرَ ﴿٤٥﴾

Waa la jabin kooxda, Dabadayna jeedin

[Their] assembly will be defeated, and they will turn their backs [in retreat]

بَلِ ٱلسَّاعَةُ مَوۡعِدُهُمۡ وَٱلسَّاعَةُ أَدۡهَىٰ وَأَمَرُّ ﴿٤٦﴾

Saacadda (Qiyaame) yaa ballan u ah, Saacadduna iyadaa daran oo khadhaadh

But the Hour is their appointment [for due punishment], and the Hour is more disastrous and more bitter

إِنَّ ٱلۡمُجۡرِمِینَ فِی ضَلَـٰلࣲ وَسُعُرࣲ ﴿٤٧﴾

Kuwa dambiilayaasha ah baadi iyo fogaansho yay ku suganyihiin

Indeed, the criminals are in error and madness

یَوۡمَ یُسۡحَبُونَ فِی ٱلنَّارِ عَلَىٰ وُجُوهِهِمۡ ذُوقُوا۟ مَسَّ سَقَرَ ﴿٤٨﴾

(Waxaana lagu dhihi) Maalinta Naarta WajiWaji loogu ridi dhadhamiya taabashada Saqara

The Day they are dragged into the Fire on their faces [it will be said], "Taste the touch of Saqar

إِنَّا كُلَّ شَیۡءٍ خَلَقۡنَـٰهُ بِقَدَرࣲ ﴿٤٩﴾

Wax kasta waxaan ku abuurray qadar

Indeed, all things We created with predestination

وَمَاۤ أَمۡرُنَاۤ إِلَّا وَ ٰحِدَةࣱ كَلَمۡحِۭ بِٱلۡبَصَرِ ﴿٥٠﴾

Amarkannaguna ma aha mid mooyeen sida Ilbidhiqsi

And Our command is but one, like a glance of the eye

وَلَقَدۡ أَهۡلَكۡنَاۤ أَشۡیَاعَكُمۡ فَهَلۡ مِن مُّدَّكِرࣲ ﴿٥١﴾

Dhab ahaan baan u halaagnay kuwa idin la mid ah, ee wax waantoobi ma jiraa

And We have already destroyed your kinds, so is there any who will remember

وَكُلُّ شَیۡءࣲ فَعَلُوهُ فِی ٱلزُّبُرِ ﴿٥٢﴾

Wax kastoo dadku falo wuxuu ku suganyahay Kutubta

And everything they did is in written records

وَكُلُّ صَغِیرࣲ وَكَبِیرࣲ مُّسۡتَطَرٌ ﴿٥٣﴾

Wax kastoo yar ama waynna waa qoranyahay

And every small and great [thing] is inscribed

إِنَّ ٱلۡمُتَّقِینَ فِی جَنَّـٰتࣲ وَنَهَرࣲ ﴿٥٤﴾

Kuwa dhawrsadana waxay gali Jannooyin iyo wabiyaal

Indeed, the righteous will be among gardens and rivers

فِی مَقۡعَدِ صِدۡقٍ عِندَ مَلِیكࣲ مُّقۡتَدِرِۭ ﴿٥٥﴾

Meel la fadhiisto oo xaq ah oo Eebaha awoodda leh agtiisa ah (yaa u sugnaatay)

In a seat of honor near a Sovereign, Perfect in Ability
