Surah An-Najm سُورَةُ النَّجۡمِ

وَٱلنَّجۡمِ إِذَا هَوَىٰ ﴿١﴾

Wuxuu ku dhaartay (Eebe) Xiddiggu markuu hoobto

By the star when it descends

مَا ضَلَّ صَاحِبُكُمۡ وَمَا غَوَىٰ ﴿٢﴾

Ee saaxiibkiin (Nabigu) ma dhumin, xaqana kama leexan

Your companion [Muhammad] has not strayed, nor has he erred

وَمَا یَنطِقُ عَنِ ٱلۡهَوَىٰۤ ﴿٣﴾

Kumana hadlo hawadiisa

Nor does he speak from [his own] inclination

إِنۡ هُوَ إِلَّا وَحۡیࣱ یُوحَىٰ ﴿٤﴾

quraankuna waxaan waxyi Eebe ahayn ma aha

It is not but a revelation revealed

عَلَّمَهُۥ شَدِیدُ ٱلۡقُوَىٰ ﴿٥﴾

Waxaana wax baray (oo xagga Eebe ka soo gaadhsiiyay) ku xoog wayn, (Malaku Jibriil)

Taught to him by one intense in strength

ذُو مِرَّةࣲ فَٱسۡتَوَىٰ ﴿٦﴾

Ee caafimaad iyo quwaba leh, abuuriddiisuna egtahay

One of soundness. And he rose to [his] true form

وَهُوَ بِٱلۡأُفُقِ ٱلۡأَعۡلَىٰ ﴿٧﴾

Wuxuu joogay jihadii sare (Jibriil)

While he was in the higher [part of the] horizon

ثُمَّ دَنَا فَتَدَلَّىٰ ﴿٨﴾

Kaddibna u soo dhawaaday kuna soo hoobtay (Nabiga)

Then he approached and descended

فَكَانَ قَابَ قَوۡسَیۡنِ أَوۡ أَدۡنَىٰ ﴿٩﴾

Intuu uga jirsado Qaanso (xadhiggeed) ama ka dhaw

And was at a distance of two bow lengths or nearer

فَأَوۡحَىٰۤ إِلَىٰ عَبۡدِهِۦ مَاۤ أَوۡحَىٰ ﴿١٠﴾

Wuxuuna Eebe waxyooday Addoonkiisa (Nabiga) wuxuu u waxyooday

And he revealed to His Servant what he revealed

مَا كَذَبَ ٱلۡفُؤَادُ مَا رَأَىٰۤ ﴿١١﴾

Qalbiguna Ma beeniyo wuxuu arkay (Nabigu)

The heart did not lie [about] what it saw

أَفَتُمَـٰرُونَهُۥ عَلَىٰ مَا یَرَىٰ ﴿١٢﴾

Ee ma idinkaa ka murmi «kana doodi» wuxuu arkay

So will you dispute with him over what he saw

وَلَقَدۡ رَءَاهُ نَزۡلَةً أُخۡرَىٰ ﴿١٣﴾

Dhabnimuu Nabigu u arkay Jibrill mar kale

And he certainly saw him in another descent

عِندَ سِدۡرَةِ ٱلۡمُنتَهَىٰ ﴿١٤﴾

Sidratul-Muntaha agteeda

At the Lote Tree of the Utmost Boundary

عِندَهَا جَنَّةُ ٱلۡمَأۡوَىٰۤ ﴿١٥﴾

Agteedana waxaa ah Jannatul-ma'waa

Near it is the Garden of Refuge

إِذۡ یَغۡشَى ٱلسِّدۡرَةَ مَا یَغۡشَىٰ ﴿١٦﴾

(Wuxuu arkay) waqtiguu daboolayay Sidrada wax daboola

When there covered the Lote Tree that which covered [it]

مَا زَاغَ ٱلۡبَصَرُ وَمَا طَغَىٰ ﴿١٧﴾

Arragguna kama iilan wuxuu arkay (Nabigu) mana xadgudbin

The sight [of the Prophet] did not swerve, nor did it transgress [its limit]

لَقَدۡ رَأَىٰ مِنۡ ءَایَـٰتِ رَبِّهِ ٱلۡكُبۡرَىٰۤ ﴿١٨﴾

Dhabnimo yuuna u arkay (Nabigu) Aayado Eebe oo waawayn

He certainly saw of the greatest signs of his Lord

أَفَرَءَیۡتُمُ ٱللَّـٰتَ وَٱلۡعُزَّىٰ ﴿١٩﴾

Ka warrama (Sanamyada) Laata iyo Cuza

So have you considered al-Lat and al-'Uzza

وَمَنَوٰةَ ٱلثَّالِثَةَ ٱلۡأُخۡرَىٰۤ ﴿٢٠﴾

Iya Manaatadii saddexaad ee kale

And Manat, the third - the other one

أَلَكُمُ ٱلذَّكَرُ وَلَهُ ٱلۡأُنثَىٰ ﴿٢١﴾

Idinku ma waxaad leedihiin Lab Eebana Dhaddigga

Is the male for you and for Him the female

تِلۡكَ إِذࣰا قِسۡمَةࣱ ضِیزَىٰۤ ﴿٢٢﴾

Taasi waa qayb dulan ah

That, then, is an unjust division

إِنۡ هِیَ إِلَّاۤ أَسۡمَاۤءࣱ سَمَّیۡتُمُوهَاۤ أَنتُمۡ وَءَابَاۤؤُكُم مَّاۤ أَنزَلَ ٱللَّهُ بِهَا مِن سُلۡطَـٰنٍۚ إِن یَتَّبِعُونَ إِلَّا ٱلظَّنَّ وَمَا تَهۡوَى ٱلۡأَنفُسُۖ وَلَقَدۡ جَاۤءَهُم مِّن رَّبِّهِمُ ٱلۡهُدَىٰۤ ﴿٢٣﴾

Sanammaduna magacyo aad magacowdeen idinka iyo Aabayawgiin mooyeen wax kale ma aha, wax xuja ahna Eebe uma soo dajinin, waxaan mala ahaynna ma raacayaan iyo waxa naftoodu doonto, xagga Eebana waxaa uga yimid hanuun

They are not but [mere] names you have named them - you and your forefathers - for which Allah has sent down no authority. They follow not except assumption and what [their] souls desire, and there has already come to them from their Lord guidance

أَمۡ لِلۡإِنسَـٰنِ مَا تَمَنَّىٰ ﴿٢٤﴾

Mise dadka waxaa u sugnaaday waxay yididiishaan

Or is there for man whatever he wishes

فَلِلَّهِ ٱلۡءَاخِرَةُ وَٱلۡأُولَىٰ ﴿٢٥﴾

Aakhiro iyo Adduunba Eebaa iska leh

Rather, to Allah belongs the Hereafter and the first [life]

۞ وَكَم مِّن مَّلَكࣲ فِی ٱلسَّمَـٰوَ ٰتِ لَا تُغۡنِی شَفَـٰعَتُهُمۡ شَیۡءًا إِلَّا مِنۢ بَعۡدِ أَن یَأۡذَنَ ٱللَّهُ لِمَن یَشَاۤءُ وَیَرۡضَىٰۤ ﴿٢٦﴾

Badanaa Malag Samada ku sugan oon shafeecadiisu waxba anfacaynin in Eebe idmo mooyee, Cidduu la doono oo ka raalli noqdo

And how many angels there are in the heavens whose intercession will not avail at all except [only] after Allah has permitted [it] to whom He wills and approves

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِینَ لَا یُؤۡمِنُونَ بِٱلۡءَاخِرَةِ لَیُسَمُّونَ ٱلۡمَلَـٰۤئِكَةَ تَسۡمِیَةَ ٱلۡأُنثَىٰ ﴿٢٧﴾

Kuwa aan rumaynin Aakhiro waxay Malaa'igta ku magacaabi magac dhaddig

Indeed, those who do not believe in the Hereafter name the angels female names

وَمَا لَهُم بِهِۦ مِنۡ عِلۡمٍۖ إِن یَتَّبِعُونَ إِلَّا ٱلظَّنَّۖ وَإِنَّ ٱلظَّنَّ لَا یُغۡنِی مِنَ ٱلۡحَقِّ شَیۡءࣰا ﴿٢٨﴾

Wax cilmi ahna uma laha, ee waxay raaci mala uun, malana xaqa wax kama taro

And they have thereof no knowledge. They follow not except assumption, and indeed, assumption avails not against the truth at all

فَأَعۡرِضۡ عَن مَّن تَوَلَّىٰ عَن ذِكۡرِنَا وَلَمۡ یُرِدۡ إِلَّا ٱلۡحَیَوٰةَ ٱلدُّنۡیَا ﴿٢٩﴾

Ee iskaga jeedso (nabiyow) Ruux ka tagay xukayga (Quraanka) oon doonin waxaan nolosha Adduunka ahayn

So turn away from whoever turns his back on Our message and desires not except the worldly life

ذَ ٰلِكَ مَبۡلَغُهُم مِّنَ ٱلۡعِلۡمِۚ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ أَعۡلَمُ بِمَن ضَلَّ عَن سَبِیلِهِۦ وَهُوَ أَعۡلَمُ بِمَنِ ٱهۡتَدَىٰ ﴿٣٠﴾

Kaasina waa garaadkooda aqooneed intuu gaadhay, Eebana waa ogyahay cidda ka dhuntay jidkiisa, waana ogyahay cidda hanuunsan

That is their sum of knowledge. Indeed, your Lord is most knowing of who strays from His way, and He is most knowing of who is guided

وَلِلَّهِ مَا فِی ٱلسَّمَـٰوَ ٰتِ وَمَا فِی ٱلۡأَرۡضِ لِیَجۡزِیَ ٱلَّذِینَ أَسَـٰۤءُوا۟ بِمَا عَمِلُوا۟ وَیَجۡزِیَ ٱلَّذِینَ أَحۡسَنُوا۟ بِٱلۡحُسۡنَى ﴿٣١﴾

Samaawaadka iyo Dhulka waxa ku sugan Eebaa iska leh, si uu uga abaalmariyo kuwa xumaanta falay camalkoodii, ugana abaalmariyo kuwii wanaagga falay wanaag

And to Allah belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth - that He may recompense those who do evil with [the penalty of] what they have done and recompense those who do good with the best [reward]

ٱلَّذِینَ یَجۡتَنِبُونَ كَبَـٰۤئِرَ ٱلۡإِثۡمِ وَٱلۡفَوَ ٰحِشَ إِلَّا ٱللَّمَمَۚ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ وَ ٰسِعُ ٱلۡمَغۡفِرَةِۚ هُوَ أَعۡلَمُ بِكُمۡ إِذۡ أَنشَأَكُم مِّنَ ٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَإِذۡ أَنتُمۡ أَجِنَّةࣱ فِی بُطُونِ أُمَّهَـٰتِكُمۡۖ فَلَا تُزَكُّوۤا۟ أَنفُسَكُمۡۖ هُوَ أَعۡلَمُ بِمَنِ ٱتَّقَىٰۤ ﴿٣٢﴾

Waana kuwa ka fogaada dambiga waawayn iyo xumaanta, wax yaryar mooyeen, Eebana waa waasac dambidhaafkiisu, wuuna idin ogyahay markuu idinka abuuray Dhulka iyo markaad ku asturantihiin uurka hooyadiin, ee Naftiinna ha ammaanina Eebaa og cidda dhawrsashada badane

Those who avoid the major sins and immoralities, only [committing] slight ones. Indeed, your Lord is vast in forgiveness. He was most knowing of you when He produced you from the earth and when you were fetuses in the wombs of your mothers. So do not claim yourselves to be pure; He is most knowing of who fears Him

أَفَرَءَیۡتَ ٱلَّذِی تَوَلَّىٰ ﴿٣٣﴾

Ka warrama midka xaqa ka jeedsaday

Have you seen the one who turned away

وَأَعۡطَىٰ قَلِیلࣰا وَأَكۡدَىٰۤ ﴿٣٤﴾

Oo wax ar bixiyay inta kalana reebtay

And gave a little and [then] refrained

أَعِندَهُۥ عِلۡمُ ٱلۡغَیۡبِ فَهُوَ یَرَىٰۤ ﴿٣٥﴾

Ma agtiisaa cilmiga maqan yaallaa oo wuu arkaa

Does he have knowledge of the unseen, so he sees

أَمۡ لَمۡ یُنَبَّأۡ بِمَا فِی صُحُفِ مُوسَىٰ ﴿٣٦﴾

Miyaan looga warramin (dadka) wixii ku yiillay Kitaabkii (Nabi Muuse)

Or has he not been informed of what was in the scriptures of Moses

وَإِبۡرَ ٰهِیمَ ٱلَّذِی وَفَّىٰۤ ﴿٣٧﴾

Iyo kii (Nabi Ibraahimkii) ee oofiyay (wixii lafaray)

And [of] Abraham, who fulfilled [his obligations]

أَلَّا تَزِرُ وَازِرَةࣱ وِزۡرَ أُخۡرَىٰ ﴿٣٨﴾

Inaan nafna dambi naf kale qaadaynin

That no bearer of burdens will bear the burden of another

وَأَن لَّیۡسَ لِلۡإِنسَـٰنِ إِلَّا مَا سَعَىٰ ﴿٣٩﴾

Ruuxna wuxuusan camalfalin heleeynin

And that there is not for man except that [good] for which he strives

وَأَنَّ سَعۡیَهُۥ سَوۡفَ یُرَىٰ ﴿٤٠﴾

Camalkiisana la arki doono

And that his effort is going to be seen

ثُمَّ یُجۡزَىٰهُ ٱلۡجَزَاۤءَ ٱلۡأَوۡفَىٰ ﴿٤١﴾

Ka dibna looga abaalmarin doono si buuxda

Then he will be recompensed for it with the fullest recompense

وَأَنَّ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ ٱلۡمُنتَهَىٰ ﴿٤٢﴾

Eebaa xaggiisana loo ahaan

And that to your Lord is the finality

وَأَنَّهُۥ هُوَ أَضۡحَكَ وَأَبۡكَىٰ ﴿٤٣﴾

Eebe waakan wax ka qosliya kana oohiya

And that it is He who makes [one] laugh and weep

وَأَنَّهُۥ هُوَ أَمَاتَ وَأَحۡیَا ﴿٤٤﴾

Isagaana wax dila waxna nooleeya

And that it is He who causes death and gives life

وَأَنَّهُۥ خَلَقَ ٱلزَّوۡجَیۡنِ ٱلذَّكَرَ وَٱلۡأُنثَىٰ ﴿٤٥﴾

Isagaana abuuray labada nooc ee ah lab iyo dhaddigba

And that He creates the two mates - the male and female

مِن نُّطۡفَةٍ إِذَا تُمۡنَىٰ ﴿٤٦﴾

Kana ahaysiiyay dhibic soo baxday

From a sperm-drop when it is emitted

وَأَنَّ عَلَیۡهِ ٱلنَّشۡأَةَ ٱلۡأُخۡرَىٰ ﴿٤٧﴾

Isagaana ahaysiin soo celinta kale

And that [incumbent] upon Him is the next creation

وَأَنَّهُۥ هُوَ أَغۡنَىٰ وَأَقۡنَىٰ ﴿٤٨﴾

Eebe isagaa wax Hodmiya isagaana wax faqiiriya

And that it is He who enriches and suffices

وَأَنَّهُۥ هُوَ رَبُّ ٱلشِّعۡرَىٰ ﴿٤٩﴾

Waana Eebaha xiddigga Shicra

And that it is He who is the Lord of Sirius

وَأَنَّهُۥۤ أَهۡلَكَ عَادًا ٱلۡأُولَىٰ ﴿٥٠﴾

Eebe isagaa halaagay Caadkii hore

And that He destroyed the first [people of] 'Aad

وَثَمُودَا۟ فَمَاۤ أَبۡقَىٰ ﴿٥١﴾

Iyo Thamuudba waxna kama reebin

And Thamud - and He did not spare [them]

وَقَوۡمَ نُوحࣲ مِّن قَبۡلُۖ إِنَّهُمۡ كَانُوا۟ هُمۡ أَظۡلَمَ وَأَطۡغَىٰ ﴿٥٢﴾

(Nabi Nuux) Qoomkiisiina horuu (uhalaagay), waxayna ahaayeen kuwa dulmi badan oo xadgudub badan

And the people of Noah before. Indeed, it was they who were [even] more unjust and oppressing

وَٱلۡمُؤۡتَفِكَةَ أَهۡوَىٰ ﴿٥٣﴾

Qoomkii (Nabi Luudhna) wuu riday (Eebe)

And the overturned towns He hurled down

فَغَشَّىٰهَا مَا غَشَّىٰ ﴿٥٤﴾

Wuxuuna ka daboolay wuxuu ku daboolay (oo caddibaad ah)

And covered them by that which He covered

فَبِأَیِّ ءَالَاۤءِ رَبِّكَ تَتَمَارَىٰ ﴿٥٥﴾

Teebaadse nicmooyinka Eebe shakinaysaan (kana doodaysaan) dadow

Then which of the favors of your Lord do you doubt

هَـٰذَا نَذِیرࣱ مِّنَ ٱلنُّذُرِ ٱلۡأُولَىٰۤ ﴿٥٦﴾

Kan (Nabiga iyo Quraankuba) waa dige ka mid ah digayaashii hore

This [Prophet] is a warner like the former warners

أَزِفَتِ ٱلۡءَازِفَةُ ﴿٥٧﴾

Wayna dhawaatay Saacaddii Qiyaame

The Approaching Day has approached

لَیۡسَ لَهَا مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ كَاشِفَةٌ ﴿٥٨﴾

Wax Eebe ka soo hadhay oo ogna ma jiro (markay dhici)

Of it, [from those] besides Allah, there is no remover

أَفَمِنۡ هَـٰذَا ٱلۡحَدِیثِ تَعۡجَبُونَ ﴿٥٩﴾

Ma quraankanaad la yaabantihiin

Then at this statement do you wonder

وَتَضۡحَكُونَ وَلَا تَبۡكُونَ ﴿٦٠﴾

Ood qoslaysaan (idinkoo beenin) oydaanna ooyeynin (cabsi darteed)

And you laugh and do not weep

وَأَنتُمۡ سَـٰمِدُونَ ﴿٦١﴾

Idinkoo waliba hilmaansan (islana wayn)

While you are proudly sporting

فَ̅ٱ̅سۡ̅جُ̅دُ̅و̅ا۟̅ لِلَّهِ وَٱعۡبُدُوا۟ ۩ ﴿٦٢﴾

Ee dadow Eebe u sujuuda caabudana

So prostrate to Allah and worship [Him]
