Surah Al-Hijr سُورَةُ الحِجۡرِ

۞ الۤرۚ تِلۡكَ ءَایَـٰتُ ٱلۡكِتَـٰبِ وَقُرۡءَانࣲ مُّبِینࣲ ﴿١﴾

Xarfaha hore waa la soo sheegay Macnahooda, Kuwana waa Aayadaha Kitaabka iyo Quraanka cad

Alif, Lam, Ra. These are the verses of the Book and a clear Qur'an

رُّبَمَا یَوَدُّ ٱلَّذِینَ كَفَرُوا۟ لَوۡ كَانُوا۟ مُسۡلِمِینَ ﴿٢﴾

Wax badanbay tamanin (Jeclaan) kuwii Gaaloobay (Aakhiro) inay Muslimiin ahaadaan (adduunkii)

Perhaps those who disbelieve will wish that they had been Muslims

ذَرۡهُمۡ یَأۡكُلُوا۟ وَیَتَمَتَّعُوا۟ وَیُلۡهِهِمُ ٱلۡأَمَلُۖ فَسَوۡفَ یَعۡلَمُونَ ﴿٣﴾

ka tag ha cuneen hana raaxasyteene Hana Shuqliso yididiilo way ogaan doonaane

Let them eat and enjoy themselves and be diverted by [false] hope, for they are going to know

وَمَاۤ أَهۡلَكۡنَا مِن قَرۡیَةٍ إِلَّا وَلَهَا كِتَابࣱ مَّعۡلُومࣱ ﴿٤﴾

Magaalo la halaago oo kasta waxaa u sugnaaday Wakhti la yaqaanno

And We did not destroy any city but that for it was a known decree

مَّا تَسۡبِقُ مِنۡ أُمَّةٍ أَجَلَهَا وَمَا یَسۡتَءۡخِرُونَ ﴿٥﴾

Kamana hor marto umadi Ajasheeda (wakhtigeeda) Kamana dib marto

No nation will precede its term, nor will they remain thereafter

وَقَالُوا۟ یَـٰۤأَیُّهَا ٱلَّذِی نُزِّلَ عَلَیۡهِ ٱلذِّكۡرُ إِنَّكَ لَمَجۡنُونࣱ ﴿٦﴾

Waxay dhaheen kan Quraanka lagu soo dejiyayow Adugu waad waalantahay

And they say, "O you upon whom the message has been sent down, indeed you are mad

لَّوۡ مَا تَأۡتِینَا بِٱلۡمَلَـٰۤئِكَةِ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ ٱلصَّـٰدِقِینَ ﴿٧﴾

Maad malaa'ig noo keentid haddaad run Sheegi

Why do you not bring us the angels, if you should be among the truthful

مَا نُنَزِّلُ ٱلۡمَلَـٰۤئِكَةَ إِلَّا بِٱلۡحَقِّ وَمَا كَانُوۤا۟ إِذࣰا مُّنظَرِینَ ﴿٨﴾

Umana soo Dehinno Malaa'igta xaq mooyee lamana sugeen Gaalada (markaas)

We do not send down the angels except with truth; and the disbelievers would not then be reprieved

إِنَّا نَحۡنُ نَزَّلۡنَا ٱلذِّكۡرَ وَإِنَّا لَهُۥ لَحَـٰفِظُونَ ﴿٩﴾

Annagaa soo dejinnay Quraanka annagaana Dhawri

Indeed, it is We who sent down the Qur'an and indeed, We will be its guardian

وَلَقَدۡ أَرۡسَلۡنَا مِن قَبۡلِكَ فِی شِیَعِ ٱلۡأَوَّلِینَ ﴿١٠﴾

waxaan u dirray hortaa (rasuullo) Ummadihii hore

And We had certainly sent [messengers] before you, [O Muhammad], among the sects of the former peoples

وَمَا یَأۡتِیهِم مِّن رَّسُولٍ إِلَّا كَانُوا۟ بِهِۦ یَسۡتَهۡزِءُونَ ﴿١١﴾

Rasuul kasta oo u yimaaddana waxay ahaayeen kuwo ku jeesjeesa

And no messenger would come to them except that they ridiculed him

كَذَ ٰلِكَ نَسۡلُكُهُۥ فِی قُلُوبِ ٱلۡمُجۡرِمِینَ ﴿١٢﴾

saasaana u galinaa (Gaalnimada) quluubta dambiilayaasha

Thus do We insert denial into the hearts of the criminals

لَا یُؤۡمِنُونَ بِهِۦ وَقَدۡ خَلَتۡ سُنَّةُ ٱلۡأَوَّلِینَ ﴿١٣﴾

mana rumeeyaan Quraanka waxaana tegay (hor maray) sumaddii «Jidkii» kuwii horreeyey

They will not believe in it, while there has already occurred the precedent of the former peoples

وَلَوۡ فَتَحۡنَا عَلَیۡهِم بَابࣰا مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَاۤءِ فَظَلُّوا۟ فِیهِ یَعۡرُجُونَ ﴿١٤﴾

haddaan uga furro korkooda irrid samada ooy ahaadaan kuwo kora

And [even] if We opened to them a gate from the heaven and they continued therein to ascend

لَقَالُوۤا۟ إِنَّمَا سُكِّرَتۡ أَبۡصَـٰرُنَا بَلۡ نَحۡنُ قَوۡمࣱ مَّسۡحُورُونَ ﴿١٥﴾

waxay odhan lahaayeen waxaan uun la awday (La tiray) aragyadannadii, waxaabanse nahay qoom la sixray

They would say, "Our eyes have only been dazzled. Rather, we are a people affected by magic

وَلَقَدۡ جَعَلۡنَا فِی ٱلسَّمَاۤءِ بُرُوجࣰا وَزَیَّنَّـٰهَا لِلنَّـٰظِرِینَ ﴿١٦﴾

waxaan yeellay samada buruuj (Meelo) waxaan u qurxinnay kuwa dayi (eegi)

And We have placed within the heaven great stars and have beautified it for the observers

وَحَفِظۡنَـٰهَا مِن كُلِّ شَیۡطَـٰنࣲ رَّجِیمٍ ﴿١٧﴾

waxaana ka dhawray shaydaan la tuuray «fogeeyey» dhammaantiis

And We have protected it from every devil expelled [from the mercy of Allah]

إِلَّا مَنِ ٱسۡتَرَقَ ٱلسَّمۡعَ فَأَتۡبَعَهُۥ شِهَابࣱ مُّبِینࣱ ﴿١٨﴾

mid dafa maqalka oo danab cad raaco mooyee

Except one who steals a hearing and is pursued by a clear burning flame

وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ مَدَدۡنَـٰهَا وَأَلۡقَیۡنَا فِیهَا رَوَ ٰسِیَ وَأَنۢبَتۡنَا فِیهَا مِن كُلِّ شَیۡءࣲ مَّوۡزُونࣲ ﴿١٩﴾

dhulkana waan fidinay waxaana ku ridnay «sugnay» dhexdeeda Buuro, waxaana ka soo bixinay wax kasta oo Miisaaman

And the earth - We have spread it and cast therein firmly set mountains and caused to grow therein [something] of every well-balanced thing

وَجَعَلۡنَا لَكُمۡ فِیهَا مَعَـٰیِشَ وَمَن لَّسۡتُمۡ لَهُۥ بِرَ ٰزِقِینَ ﴿٢٠﴾

waxaana idiinka yeellay dhexdiisa nolol iyo waxaydaan arzaaqi karin

And We have made for you therein means of living and [for] those for whom you are not providers

وَإِن مِّن شَیۡءٍ إِلَّا عِندَنَا خَزَاۤئِنُهُۥ وَمَا نُنَزِّلُهُۥۤ إِلَّا بِقَدَرࣲ مَّعۡلُومࣲ ﴿٢١﴾

waxaan agtanada khasnadihiisu «kaydkiisu» ahayn ma jiro, umana soo dejinno qaddar la ogyahay mooyee

And there is not a thing but that with Us are its depositories, and We do not send it down except according to a known measure

وَأَرۡسَلۡنَا ٱلرِّیَـٰحَ لَوَ ٰقِحَ فَأَنزَلۡنَا مِنَ ٱلسَّمَاۤءِ مَاۤءࣰ فَأَسۡقَیۡنَـٰكُمُوهُ وَمَاۤ أَنتُمۡ لَهُۥ بِخَـٰزِنِینَ ﴿٢٢﴾

waxaana dirnaa dabaysha oo Tallaasha (Daruurta) waxaana ka soo dajina samada Biyo aan idinku waraabinno idinkoo ahayn kuwo ka keydsan kara (gudhidda)

And We have sent the fertilizing winds and sent down water from the sky and given you drink from it. And you are not its retainers

وَإِنَّا لَنَحۡنُ نُحۡیِۦ وَنُمِیتُ وَنَحۡنُ ٱلۡوَ ٰرِثُونَ ﴿٢٣﴾

annagaa wax looleeyna waxna dilla, anagaana wax dhaxalla uun (u hadha)

And indeed, it is We who give life and cause death, and We are the Inheritor

وَلَقَدۡ عَلِمۡنَا ٱلۡمُسۡتَقۡدِمِینَ مِنكُمۡ وَلَقَدۡ عَلِمۡنَا ٱلۡمُسۡتَءۡخِرِینَ ﴿٢٤﴾

waxaana ognahay kuwiinna hor maray waxaana ognahay kuwiina dib maray

And We have already known the preceding [generations] among you, and We have already known the later [ones to come]

وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ یَحۡشُرُهُمۡۚ إِنَّهُۥ حَكِیمٌ عَلِیمࣱ ﴿٢٥﴾

Eebahaana isagaa soo kulmin dadka waana falsame oge ah

And indeed, your Lord will gather them; indeed, He is Wise and Knowing

وَلَقَدۡ خَلَقۡنَا ٱلۡإِنسَـٰنَ مِن صَلۡصَـٰلࣲ مِّنۡ حَمَإࣲ مَّسۡنُونࣲ ﴿٢٦﴾

annagaana ka abuuray dadka dhoobo doorsoon

And We did certainly create man out of clay from an altered black mud

وَٱلۡجَاۤنَّ خَلَقۡنَـٰهُ مِن قَبۡلُ مِن نَّارِ ٱلسَّمُومِ ﴿٢٧﴾

Jaankana (Jinniga) waxaan ka abuuray mar hore Naar samuum leh (Kulayl)

And the jinn We created before from scorching fire

وَإِذۡ قَالَ رَبُّكَ لِلۡمَلَـٰۤئِكَةِ إِنِّی خَـٰلِقُۢ بَشَرࣰا مِّن صَلۡصَـٰلࣲ مِّنۡ حَمَإࣲ مَّسۡنُونࣲ ﴿٢٨﴾

Xusuuso markuu ku yidhi Eebahaa malaa'igta Anugu waxaan ka abuuri Dad dhoobo doorsoon

And [mention, O Muhammad], when your Lord said to the angels, "I will create a human being out of clay from an altered black mud

فَإِذَا سَوَّیۡتُهُۥ وَنَفَخۡتُ فِیهِ مِن رُّوحِی فَقَعُوا۟ لَهُۥ سَـٰجِدِینَ ﴿٢٩﴾

Ee markaan ekeeyo kuna afuufo dhexdiisa Ruuxdayda ugu dhaca Sujuud

And when I have proportioned him and breathed into him of My [created] soul, then fall down to him in prostration

فَسَجَدَ ٱلۡمَلَـٰۤئِكَةُ كُلُّهُمۡ أَجۡمَعُونَ ﴿٣٠﴾

wayna Sujuudeen malaa'igtii dhammaan oo Kulansan

So the angels prostrated - all of them entirely

إِلَّاۤ إِبۡلِیسَ أَبَىٰۤ أَن یَكُونَ مَعَ ٱلسَّـٰجِدِینَ ﴿٣١﴾

Ibliis oo diiday inuu ka mid noqdo kuwa Sujuuday mooyee

Except Iblees, he refused to be with those who prostrated

قَالَ یَـٰۤإِبۡلِیسُ مَا لَكَ أَلَّا تَكُونَ مَعَ ٱلسَّـٰجِدِینَ ﴿٣٢﴾

Wuxuuna yidhi (Eebe) Ibliisow maxaad leedahay oodan u noqonin kuwa Sujuuda

[Allah] said, O Iblees, what is [the matter] with you that you are not with those who prostrate

قَالَ لَمۡ أَكُن لِّأَسۡجُدَ لِبَشَرٍ خَلَقۡتَهُۥ مِن صَلۡصَـٰلࣲ مِّنۡ حَمَإࣲ مَّسۡنُونࣲ ﴿٣٣﴾

Wuxuuna yidhi ma ihi Mid u sujuudi dad aad ka Abuurtay Dhoobo doorsoon

He said, "Never would I prostrate to a human whom You created out of clay from an altered black mud

قَالَ فَٱخۡرُجۡ مِنۡهَا فَإِنَّكَ رَجِیمࣱ ﴿٣٤﴾

Wuxuuna yidhi Eebe ka bax xageeda adigu waa lagu fogeeyaye

[Allah] said, "Then get out of it, for indeed, you are expelled

وَإِنَّ عَلَیۡكَ ٱللَّعۡنَةَ إِلَىٰ یَوۡمِ ٱلدِّینِ ﴿٣٥﴾

Korkaagana waxaa ah Lacnad tan iyo Maalinta Abaal marinta (Qiyaamada)

And indeed, upon you is the curse until the Day of Recompense

قَالَ رَبِّ فَأَنظِرۡنِیۤ إِلَىٰ یَوۡمِ یُبۡعَثُونَ ﴿٣٦﴾

Wuxuuna yidhi Eebow i sug tan iyo maalinta La soo bixin dadka

He said, "My Lord, then reprieve me until the Day they are resurrected

قَالَ فَإِنَّكَ مِنَ ٱلۡمُنظَرِینَ ﴿٣٧﴾

Wuxuuna yidhi Eebe Adugu kuwa la sugi Yaad ka mid tahay

[Allah] said, "So indeed, you are of those reprieved

إِلَىٰ یَوۡمِ ٱلۡوَقۡتِ ٱلۡمَعۡلُومِ ﴿٣٨﴾

Tan iyo maalinta Wakhtiga la yaqaan leh

Until the Day of the time well-known

قَالَ رَبِّ بِمَاۤ أَغۡوَیۡتَنِی لَأُزَیِّنَنَّ لَهُمۡ فِی ٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَلَأُغۡوِیَنَّهُمۡ أَجۡمَعِینَ ﴿٣٩﴾

Wuxuuna yidhi Ibliis Eebow i baadiyayntaada Darteed waxaan u Qurxin dhulka Dhexdiisa waana Dhumin dhammaan

[Iblees] said, "My Lord, because You have put me in error, I will surely make [disobedience] attractive to them on earth, and I will mislead them all

إِلَّا عِبَادَكَ مِنۡهُمُ ٱلۡمُخۡلَصِینَ ﴿٤٠﴾

Addoomadaada cibaadada kuu kali Yeelay mooyee (lana doortay)

Except, among them, Your chosen servants

قَالَ هَـٰذَا صِرَ ٰطٌ عَلَیَّ مُسۡتَقِیمٌ ﴿٤١﴾

Eebe wuxuu yidhi kaasi waa Jid igu toosan (oo layska abaal marin)

[Allah] said, "This is a path [of return] to Me [that is] straight

إِنَّ عِبَادِی لَیۡسَ لَكَ عَلَیۡهِمۡ سُلۡطَـٰنٌ إِلَّا مَنِ ٱتَّبَعَكَ مِنَ ٱلۡغَاوِینَ ﴿٤٢﴾

Addoomadayda (toosan) Kuma lihid xujo Cid Ku raacday oo kuwa Baadida ah ka mida Mooyee

Indeed, My servants - no authority will you have over them, except those who follow you of the deviators

وَإِنَّ جَهَنَّمَ لَمَوۡعِدُهُمۡ أَجۡمَعِینَ ﴿٤٣﴾

Jahanamaana yaboohoodu yahay (inta dhunta) Dhammaan

And indeed, Hell is the promised place for them all

لَهَا سَبۡعَةُ أَبۡوَ ٰبࣲ لِّكُلِّ بَابࣲ مِّنۡهُمۡ جُزۡءࣱ مَّقۡسُومٌ ﴿٤٤﴾

Waxayna leedahay todoba irridood oo irrid Kastana waxay leedahay Qaddar loo qaybiyay (oo Ibliis iyo Colkiisa ah)

It has seven gates; for every gate is of them a portion designated

إِنَّ ٱلۡمُتَّقِینَ فِی جَنَّـٰتࣲ وَعُیُونٍ ﴿٤٥﴾

kuwa Eebe ka dhawrsadana waxay gali Janooyin iyo Ilo (durduri)

Indeed, the righteous will be within gardens and springs

ٱدۡخُلُوهَا بِسَلَـٰمٍ ءَامِنِینَ ﴿٤٦﴾

waxaana la dhahaa ku gala Nabad galyo iyo Aaminimo

[Having been told], "Enter it in peace, safe [and secure]

وَنَزَعۡنَا مَا فِی صُدُورِهِم مِّنۡ غِلٍّ إِخۡوَ ٰنًا عَلَىٰ سُرُرࣲ مُّتَقَـٰبِلِینَ ﴿٤٧﴾

waxaana ka siibnaa waxa laabtooda ku jira oo xiqdi ah, waana walaalo sariira isqaabilsan ku sugan

And We will remove whatever is in their breasts of resentment, [so they will be] brothers, on thrones facing each other

لَا یَمَسُّهُمۡ فِیهَا نَصَبࣱ وَمَا هُم مِّنۡهَا بِمُخۡرَجِینَ ﴿٤٨﴾

kumana taabto jannada dhesdeeda dhib xageedana lagama Bixiyo

No fatigue will touch them therein, nor from it will they [ever] be removed

۞ نَبِّئۡ عِبَادِیۤ أَنِّیۤ أَنَا ٱلۡغَفُورُ ٱلرَّحِیمُ ﴿٤٩﴾

U warran addomadayda inaan anugu Dambi dhaafe Naxariista ahay

[O Muhammad], inform My servants that it is I who am the Forgiving, the Merciful

وَأَنَّ عَذَابِی هُوَ ٱلۡعَذَابُ ٱلۡأَلِیمُ ﴿٥٠﴾

iyo in Cadaabkaygu uu yahay Cadaabka daran uun

And that it is My punishment which is the painful punishment

وَنَبِّئۡهُمۡ عَن ضَیۡفِ إِبۡرَ ٰهِیمَ ﴿٥١﴾

Ugana waran dadka Martidii (Malaa'ig) Nabi Ibraahim

And inform them about the guests of Abraham

إِذۡ دَخَلُوا۟ عَلَیۡهِ فَقَالُوا۟ سَلَـٰمࣰا قَالَ إِنَّا مِنكُمۡ وَجِلُونَ ﴿٥٢﴾

Markay u soo galeen kuna Dhaheen salaan Kuna yidhi waanu idinka cabsan

When they entered upon him and said, "Peace." [Abraham] said, "Indeed, we are fearful of you

قَالُوا۟ لَا تَوۡجَلۡ إِنَّا نُبَشِّرُكَ بِغُلَـٰمٍ عَلِیمࣲ ﴿٥٣﴾

ooy Dhaheena ha cabsan Waxaanu kuugu Bishaarayn Wiil cilmi yeelane

[The angels] said, "Fear not. Indeed, we give you good tidings of a learned boy

قَالَ أَبَشَّرۡتُمُونِی عَلَىٰۤ أَن مَّسَّنِیَ ٱلۡكِبَرُ فَبِمَ تُبَشِّرُونَ ﴿٥٤﴾

Wuxuuna ku yidhi Ma waxaad ii bishaaraynaysaan Anoo odaynimo Itaabatay, Maxaad iigu Bishaaraynaysaan

He said, "Have you given me good tidings although old age has come upon me? Then of what [wonder] do you inform

قَالُوا۟ بَشَّرۡنَـٰكَ بِٱلۡحَقِّ فَلَا تَكُن مِّنَ ٱلۡقَـٰنِطِینَ ﴿٥٥﴾

Waxayna dhaheen waxaanu Kuugu Bishaarayn Xaq ee ha noqonin Mid quusta

They said, "We have given you good tidings in truth, so do not be of the despairing

قَالَ وَمَن یَقۡنَطُ مِن رَّحۡمَةِ رَبِّهِۦۤ إِلَّا ٱلضَّاۤلُّونَ ﴿٥٦﴾

Wuxuuna yidhi yaa ka Quusta Naxariista Eebihiis kuwa Baadida ah mooyee

He said, "And who despairs of the mercy of his Lord except for those astray

قَالَ فَمَا خَطۡبُكُمۡ أَیُّهَا ٱلۡمُرۡسَلُونَ ﴿٥٧﴾

Wuxuu yidhi Xaalkiinnu muxuu yahay Kuwan la Soo dirayaw

[Abraham] said, "Then what is your business [here], O messengers

قَالُوۤا۟ إِنَّاۤ أُرۡسِلۡنَاۤ إِلَىٰ قَوۡمࣲ مُّجۡرِمِینَ ﴿٥٨﴾

Waxayna dhaheen waxaa naloo Diray Qoom Danbiilayaal ah xagood

They said, "Indeed, we have been sent to a people of criminals

إِلَّاۤ ءَالَ لُوطٍ إِنَّا لَمُنَجُّوهُمۡ أَجۡمَعِینَ ﴿٥٩﴾

Ehelka (nabi) Luudh mooyee oo Waanu korin Dhammaantood

Except the family of Lot; indeed, we will save them all

إِلَّا ٱمۡرَأَتَهُۥ قَدَّرۡنَاۤ إِنَّهَا لَمِنَ ٱلۡغَـٰبِرِینَ ﴿٦٠﴾

Haweenaydiisa mooyee oo noqon Kuwa ku Hadhi (Halaagga)

Except his wife." Allah decreed that she is of those who remain behind

فَلَمَّا جَاۤءَ ءَالَ لُوطٍ ٱلۡمُرۡسَلُونَ ﴿٦١﴾

Markay u yimaadeen Ehelki nabi Luudh kuwii La soo diray

And when the messengers came to the family of Lot

قَالَ إِنَّكُمۡ قَوۡمࣱ مُّنكَرُونَ ﴿٦٢﴾

Wuxuu yidhi Idinku waxaad Tihiin Qoom aan la Garanaynin

He said, "Indeed, you are people unknown

قَالُوا۟ بَلۡ جِئۡنَـٰكَ بِمَا كَانُوا۟ فِیهِ یَمۡتَرُونَ ﴿٦٣﴾

Waxayna dhaheen saas ma aha ee Waxaannu kuula Nimid waxay Shakisanaayeen (Halaagoodii)

They said, "But we have come to you with that about which they were disputing

وَأَتَیۡنَـٰكَ بِٱلۡحَقِّ وَإِنَّا لَصَـٰدِقُونَ ﴿٦٤﴾

Waxaana kuula nimid Xaq, runna waan sheegaynaa

And we have come to you with truth, and indeed, we are truthful

فَأَسۡرِ بِأَهۡلِكَ بِقِطۡعࣲ مِّنَ ٱلَّیۡلِ وَٱتَّبِعۡ أَدۡبَـٰرَهُمۡ وَلَا یَلۡتَفِتۡ مِنكُمۡ أَحَدࣱ وَٱمۡضُوا۟ حَیۡثُ تُؤۡمَرُونَ ﴿٦٥﴾

Ee guuri Ehelkaaga qayb Habeenka ka mida Socona Gadaashooda yayna soo Milicsan Ruux ka Mida (Dib) kuna socda meeja Laydin Faray

So set out with your family during a portion of the night and follow behind them and let not anyone among you look back and continue on to where you are commanded

وَقَضَیۡنَاۤ إِلَیۡهِ ذَ ٰلِكَ ٱلۡأَمۡرَ أَنَّ دَابِرَ هَـٰۤؤُلَاۤءِ مَقۡطُوعࣱ مُّصۡبِحِینَ ﴿٦٦﴾

Waxaana u waxayoonay Amarkaas ah in Cidhibta Kuwaas la goyn Subaxdii

And We conveyed to him [the decree] of that matter: that those [sinners] would be eliminated by early morning

وَجَاۤءَ أَهۡلُ ٱلۡمَدِینَةِ یَسۡتَبۡشِرُونَ ﴿٦٧﴾

Waxaana yimid dadkii Baladka oo bishaaraysan (aragga martida)

And the people of the city came rejoicing

قَالَ إِنَّ هَـٰۤؤُلَاۤءِ ضَیۡفِی فَلَا تَفۡضَحُونِ ﴿٦٨﴾

Wuxuuna yidhi kuwan waa Martidaydii ee Ha igu ceebaynina

[Lot] said, "Indeed, these are my guests, so do not shame me

وَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَلَا تُخۡزُونِ ﴿٦٩﴾

kana dhawrsada Eebe hana i dullaynina

And fear Allah and do not disgrace me

قَالُوۤا۟ أَوَ لَمۡ نَنۡهَكَ عَنِ ٱلۡعَـٰلَمِینَ ﴿٧٠﴾

Waxayna dhaheen Miyaanaan kaa Reebin Caalamka (imaad marti galido cidna)

They said, "Have we not forbidden you from [protecting] people

قَالَ هَـٰۤؤُلَاۤءِ بَنَاتِیۤ إِن كُنتُمۡ فَـٰعِلِینَ ﴿٧١﴾

wuxuuna yidhi Kuwaasi waa gabdhahaygii Iladaad wax Falaysaan (ood guursanaysaan)

[Lot] said, "These are my daughters - if you would be doers [of lawful marriage]

لَعَمۡرُكَ إِنَّهُمۡ لَفِی سَكۡرَتِهِمۡ یَعۡمَهُونَ ﴿٧٢﴾

Cimrigaagee iyagu Baadibay ku Wareersan Yihiin

By your life, [O Muhammad], indeed they were, in their intoxication, wandering blindly

فَأَخَذَتۡهُمُ ٱلصَّیۡحَةُ مُشۡرِقِینَ ﴿٧٣﴾

Waxaana qabatay Qayladii qorrax soo baxa

So the shriek seized them at sunrise

فَجَعَلۡنَا عَـٰلِیَهَا سَافِلَهَا وَأَمۡطَرۡنَا عَلَیۡهِمۡ حِجَارَةࣰ مِّن سِجِّیلٍ ﴿٧٤﴾

Waxaana ka yeellay korkoodii hoostooda Waxaana ku soo daadinnay Korkooda Dhagaxyo Naar ah

And We made the highest part [of the city] its lowest and rained upon them stones of hard clay

إِنَّ فِی ذَ ٰلِكَ لَءَایَـٰتࣲ لِّلۡمُتَوَسِّمِینَ ﴿٧٥﴾

Arrintaasna calaamooyin baa ugu sugan Kuwa Fiirfiiriya (Fikira)

Indeed in that are signs for those who discern

وَإِنَّهَا لَبِسَبِیلࣲ مُّقِیمٍ ﴿٧٦﴾

Waxayna kutaal Magaaladaas waddo toosan (oy maraan oo cad)

And indeed, those cities are [situated] on an established road

إِنَّ فِی ذَ ٰلِكَ لَءَایَةࣰ لِّلۡمُؤۡمِنِینَ ﴿٧٧﴾

Arrintaasna calaamad yaa ugu sugan kuwa Xaqa rumeeyay

Indeed in that is a sign for the believers

وَإِن كَانَ أَصۡحَـٰبُ ٱلۡأَیۡكَةِ لَظَـٰلِمِینَ ﴿٧٨﴾

Waxayna ahaayeen Qoomkii kaynta Daalimiin (Qoomkii Nabi Shucayb)

And the companions of the thicket were [also] wrongdoers

فَٱنتَقَمۡنَا مِنۡهُمۡ وَإِنَّهُمَا لَبِإِمَامࣲ مُّبِینࣲ ﴿٧٩﴾

Waana ka aarsanay, waxayna labaduba degenaayeen Waddo cad (oo la yaqaanno)

So We took retribution from them, and indeed, both [cities] are on a clear highway

وَلَقَدۡ كَذَّبَ أَصۡحَـٰبُ ٱلۡحِجۡرِ ٱلۡمُرۡسَلِینَ ﴿٨٠﴾

Waxayna beeniyeen Qoomkii Xijrina kuwii Loo soo diray (Saalax)

And certainly did the companions of Thamud deny the messengers

وَءَاتَیۡنَـٰهُمۡ ءَایَـٰتِنَا فَكَانُوا۟ عَنۡهَا مُعۡرِضِینَ ﴿٨١﴾

Waana siinay Aayaadkanagii waxayna ahaayeen Kuwa xageeda ka jeedsada

And We gave them Our signs, but from them they were turning away

وَكَانُوا۟ یَنۡحِتُونَ مِنَ ٱلۡجِبَالِ بُیُوتًا ءَامِنِینَ ﴿٨٢﴾

Waxaana ahaayeen kuwo ka qota Buuraha Guryo aamina

And they used to carve from the mountains, houses, feeling secure

فَأَخَذَتۡهُمُ ٱلصَّیۡحَةُ مُصۡبِحِینَ ﴿٨٣﴾

Waxaana qabatay Qaylo Aroortii

But the shriek seized them at early morning

فَمَاۤ أَغۡنَىٰ عَنۡهُم مَّا كَانُوا۟ یَكۡسِبُونَ ﴿٨٤﴾

Waxna uma tarin waxay Kasbanayeen

So nothing availed them [from] what they used to earn

وَمَا خَلَقۡنَا ٱلسَّمَـٰوَ ٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ وَمَا بَیۡنَهُمَاۤ إِلَّا بِٱلۡحَقِّۗ وَإِنَّ ٱلسَّاعَةَ لَءَاتِیَةࣱۖ فَٱصۡفَحِ ٱلصَّفۡحَ ٱلۡجَمِیلَ ﴿٨٥﴾

Samooyinka iyo Dhulka iyo waxa u dhaxeeyana waxaan Xaq ahayn umaanan abuurin Saacaduna way iman ee iska saamax saamixid quruxsan

And We have not created the heavens and earth and that between them except in truth. And indeed, the Hour is coming; so forgive with gracious forgiveness

إِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ ٱلۡخَلَّـٰقُ ٱلۡعَلِیمُ ﴿٨٦﴾

Eebahaabaa ah abuuraha cilmiga lehe

Indeed, your Lord - He is the Knowing Creator

وَلَقَدۡ ءَاتَیۡنَـٰكَ سَبۡعࣰا مِّنَ ٱلۡمَثَانِی وَٱلۡقُرۡءَانَ ٱلۡعَظِیمَ ﴿٨٧﴾

waxaan ku siinay Todobo soo noqnoqota «faataxada» iyo Quraanka wayn

And We have certainly given you, [O Muhammad], seven of the often repeated [verses] and the great Qur'an

لَا تَمُدَّنَّ عَیۡنَیۡكَ إِلَىٰ مَا مَتَّعۡنَا بِهِۦۤ أَزۡوَ ٰجࣰا مِّنۡهُمۡ وَلَا تَحۡزَنۡ عَلَیۡهِمۡ وَٱخۡفِضۡ جَنَاحَكَ لِلۡمُؤۡمِنِینَ ﴿٨٨﴾

ee ha u taagin indhahaaga waxaan ugu raaxaynay qaybo ka mida. hana u murugoon una raarici (Jilei) garabkaaga (macaamiladooda) Mu'miniinta

Do not extend your eyes toward that by which We have given enjoyment to [certain] categories of the disbelievers, and do not grieve over them. And lower your wing to the believers

وَقُلۡ إِنِّیۤ أَنَا ٱلنَّذِیرُ ٱلۡمُبِینُ ﴿٨٩﴾

waxaadna dhahdaa anugu waxaan uun ahay u dige cad

And say, "Indeed, I am the clear warner

كَمَاۤ أَنزَلۡنَا عَلَى ٱلۡمُقۡتَسِمِینَ ﴿٩٠﴾

sidaan ugu soo dejinay Cadaab kuwii isu dhaarsaday (Dhibka xaqa)

Just as We had revealed [scriptures] to the separators

ٱلَّذِینَ جَعَلُوا۟ ٱلۡقُرۡءَانَ عِضِینَ ﴿٩١﴾

ee kayeelay Quraanka Qaybo

Who have made the Qur'an into portions

فَوَرَبِّكَ لَنَسۡءَلَنَّهُمۡ أَجۡمَعِینَ ﴿٩٢﴾

Eebahaa baan ku dhaartaye waan warsanaynaa dhammaantood

So by your Lord, We will surely question them all

عَمَّا كَانُوا۟ یَعۡمَلُونَ ﴿٩٣﴾

waxay falayeen

About what they used to do

فَٱصۡدَعۡ بِمَا تُؤۡمَرُ وَأَعۡرِضۡ عَنِ ٱلۡمُشۡرِكِینَ ﴿٩٤﴾

ee Muuji waxa lagu fari iskagana jeedso Mushrikiinta

Then declare what you are commanded and turn away from the polytheists

إِنَّا كَفَیۡنَـٰكَ ٱلۡمُسۡتَهۡزِءِینَ ﴿٩٥﴾

anagaa kaa kaafiyeyna kuwa jeesjeesa

Indeed, We are sufficient for you against the mockers

ٱلَّذِینَ یَجۡعَلُونَ مَعَ ٱللَّهِ إِلَـٰهًا ءَاخَرَۚ فَسَوۡفَ یَعۡلَمُونَ ﴿٩٦﴾

ee yeela Eebe Miciisa Ilaah kale wayna ogaan doonaan (waxa ku dhaca)

Who make [equal] with Allah another deity. But they are going to know

وَلَقَدۡ نَعۡلَمُ أَنَّكَ یَضِیقُ صَدۡرُكَ بِمَا یَقُولُونَ ﴿٩٧﴾

waxaana ognahay Laabtaadu inay ka cidhiidhyami waxay sheegi (oo xun)

And We already know that your breast is constrained by what they say

فَسَبِّحۡ بِحَمۡدِ رَبِّكَ وَكُن مِّنَ ٱلسَّـٰجِدِینَ ﴿٩٨﴾

ee ku Tasbiixso mahadda Eebahaa ahawna kuwa Sujuuda

So exalt [Allah] with praise of your Lord and be of those who prostrate [to Him]

وَٱعۡبُدۡ رَبَّكَ حَتَّىٰ یَأۡتِیَكَ ٱلۡیَقِینُ ﴿٩٩﴾

Caabudna Eebahaa intay Yaqiintu kaaga timaaddo (Geeridu)

And worship your Lord until there comes to you the certainty (death)
